Myriam's Nature's new video just forced me to order the Bangle Set & the Jumbo Dichro Paper Set!!!
@debrajol35853 жыл бұрын
I’ve had my 4 bracelet set for over a year & I still use them. I set out a bracelet & an earrings mold and purposely mix extra resin to use in them. It doesn’t matter what I’m making.. I pop the extra in the molds, they always turn out amazing. Do be careful with your fingernails tho.. these molds are beautifully made but they are softer & easy to blemish. Smaller Steampunk gears ⚙️ or whatever you can think of make nice bracelets.

@@debrajol3585 Thank you...Good ideas, instead of the little cab molds everyone else suggests, make something useful. I have had the privilege of getting my hands on these molds and they are absolutely amazing. I have purchased about 6 different bracelet molds over the years and none have provided me with a good cast. These molds are gorgeous and are not only easy to use but cast an amazing piece. In all honesty, I have never bought a mold anywhere else that even comes close to the quality you are going to get from Little Windows. Fran comes up with these ideas and I don't know who she works with but they definitely know their stuff. I just can't get over the quality of these molds. All the bracelet molds I have purchased either give me a terrible rough edge or they have a mat finish. The only way you can get it to shine is to either put more resin over the entire bracelet (which is difficult given the shape of a bracelet) or sand and buff the bracelet. With Fran's mold I am able to cut with sharp scissors any sharp edges and if I need to get things even, I can use the sandpaper before carefully putting more resin on that side to even it all up. BUT, what makes this the most unique mold is that you can use it to not only make a bracelet, but to do the trinket dish, ornaments, and the list goes on and on. Bravo Fran for an amazing idea.

Couple questions: Why sand back & forth vs. in circles? Won't you get grooves with B&F?, and when using yarn, flowers, etc....items with a bubble tendency, would they work better to "pre-wet" them in the mixed resin first?
@LittleWindowsResin3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jan! Normally yes you'd absolutely want to sand in a circular motion, but on this particular project, since I'm only sanding the very thin ridges at the outside tops of the bangle, and then doming them with more clear Brilliant Resin, it won't show so it really doesn't matter. I should circular sand anyway just to reinforce good habits! And yes, you sure can pre-wet elements by dipping or coating them in resin before you embed them, but if you pour your resin while it's nice and thin, that should minimize bubbles. I actually liked the bubbles I got in the yarn one, but usually they show up where you don't want them so thanks for mentioning this tip :) Keep creating! - Fran

Oooh, I love that one. I ran out of time to include it in the video, it follows the same technique as the photo bracelets, but I printed a leopard graphic on our Clear Photo Film, then just cut it in a strip to fit the mold. It was one of the easiest projects in this video, if you'd like a more opaque look you can also use leopard print fabric, but it looks amazing on the clear - subtle with a pop when it shows against your skin. I hope that helps, thanks for asking :) - Fran

Hello Tabatha! Your Brilliant Resin should be de-moldable any time after 12 hours, but it will stay a bit flexible for the first day. You can gently use a butane lighter for surface bubbles. Also try placing your plastic mix container with resin in a bowl of hot water for a bit before using. When the resin gets warm/hot the bubbles rise to surface makes popping them easier.

Does resin harm health anyone shown me a video about a person got sick with resin use
@LittleWindowsResin3 жыл бұрын
Hello Garima, I understand and appreciate your concern. I use Brilliant Resin, the safest epoxy you'll find. There is safety guidance on the bottles and in all of the maker guides, and I'm typically mixing small batches (1-2 TBSP), to make small projects, I cover them with dust covers, and have good ventilation in my space. Resins are sensitizers, meaning the more you're exposed, the more likely you may be to experience irritation. You'll need to consider situational use of both gloves and vapor masks/respirators, depending on the size of your project and your frequency of use. This is especially important if you're using a resin that contains more harmful chemicals, if you're working in a space that doesn't have good air flow, and/or if you're working on larger projects (canvases, tumblers, large castings, etc), making multiple projects simultaneously, mixing large batches, or not using dust covers. If you have chemical sensitivities, or plan to use a lot of resin, you'll certainly want protective gear. If you have any other questions email fran@little-windows.com and I'll be happy to help. Keep creating :) - Fran

So irresponsible to not wear gloves or recommend eye and respiratory protection. There’s no such thing as safe resin; they all contain toxic chemicals. Thank you Jen, I understand and appreciate your concern. I realize not all viewers are using our safer Brilliant Resin and may not have seen the safety guidance that comes on the bottles and in all of our guides, so we're working to focus more on safety and review situational use of both gloves and vapor masks/respirators. This is especially important if you're using a resin that contains more harmful chemicals than ours, if you're working in a space that doesn't have good air flow, and/or if you're working on larger projects (canvases, tumblers, large castings, etc), making multiple projects simultaneously, mixing larger batches, or not using dust covers. Thank you again for taking time to express your concern, I'll continue working to enhance all of the education I offer and communication I put out. Keep creating :) - Fran

Why aren’t you wearing gloves? I am guessing you’re not wearing a face mask either???

Hello Lil Mo, we do recommend wearing protective gear if you're making many projects, larger projects, or have chemical sensitivities. However, I'm using a resin that's far safer than those you'll get in a craft store, I'm making small projects with small batches of resin that are contained in a mold, and the chance of getting resin on my skin is quite low. I also have good ventilation in my space, which we always recommend. This information is available in our guides, on our website, and in most if not all of our videos as well. I appreciate your feedback as it'll help us improve our communications, and I hope you're having fun creating while staying safe :) - Fran
