winter is still here - but during some days it's getting warmer and it seems that spring is near! In the last weeks we got many russian/ukrain/eastern aircraft - HHN would be "empty" without them.
VOLGA-DNEPR AIRLINES
A nice guest is Volga-Dnepr Airlines. It's an airline based in Ulyanovsk, Russia. It specializes in providing air charter services by operating a unique fleet of twelve Antonov An-124 (largest production cargo aircraft), five Boeing 747-8F and five IL-76TD-90VD (Stage IV) ramp all cargo aircraft certified for global operations. Its base is Ulyanovsk Vostochny Airport (ULY) and it has a hub at Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo Airport (KJA).

IKR?! I thought that 747 was gonna skid on her engines to a stop!!🤯 The engineers at Boeing must have had some serious requirements for the landing gear!! I mean yeah, I know that you're gonna have MANY hard landings in a 747..especially a Freighter. But goddamn..I've NEVER seen such a hard landing in all of the time I've been watching planes on YT!! Wait...I'll take that back...I saw an Air France 747 land at an impossible angle and half the gear missed the runway at Kai-Tak in Hong Kong. I thought for sure that was going to be a crash!!😳

Nah, that landing gear can take a lot more. You know it's a hard landing when the shock absorbers slam all the way down and the plane bounces off the runway with the wings flapping.

Hahn - ein Eldorado für Cargoplane - Spotter! Einige hatten gut mit Crosswind zu kämpfen. Eine MD-11F oder 747F sind natürlich immer ein besonders schöner Anblick.👍 Was man von der Il76 nicht gerade behaupten kann...😅 Auch der Antonov 124 kann ich optisch nicht viel abgewinnen. Aber so ist das eben - alles reine Geschmackssache. Super auch der A320neo der ungarischen Wizzair!👌 Auf jeden Fall waren das sehr unterhaltsame und kurzweilige 17 Minuten - vielen Dank dafür! Thank you very much for your good feedback 👍HHN is more than 100km away and a normal regional small Airport. Called "Frankfurt"-Hahn for marketing reasons 😁. No special/close cooperation with FRA. Less traffic than FRA but also some planes and airlinies you will not find at FRA.
