Dingos were out in force! Me and a buddy went camping in April on a cattle easement. We wondered why there were so many cow bones around. When night came, we figured it out. Soooooo many coyotes (American Dingos). Making noise all night. It was creepy as hell. We know they don't mess with people much, though. Especially the ones that carry 45's😊😊😊 Cheers Cam🎉🎉🎉

Hilux and Fortuner throws the same code in high 4x4 if you don't turn off vsc and the front loses direction in aggressive sand driving. Ronny Dahl has a video on it. You can get a button online to wire in to make it a simple turn off. Otherwise turn off in settings each time you start car. Pain in arse. Automatically disables on low range.

Hey Cam. Mine threw the same code on soft sand north of Broome. Toyota said it was due to not turning off traction control (you have to hold it in for 3 seconds). They knew without prompting from me that it had happened on soft sand. Something to do with the car not liking loosing traction so much in sand. Since then I have done over 200kms on sand and no issues. I have the gx lc300 like you. Also they needed to re calibrate it, it wasn’t just a code

You need a special permit to camp at the top end which is why it is quieter as there is a set limit of permits

Unsure it's a special permit, just meant to pre-book all camping prior to rocking up. They allocate "X" amount of people to all sites, once filled you're not meant to just rock up. Unsure how people just rock up on west coast, very limited numbers permitted but see so many youtubers just tune up and camp, or in the sample here just stay an additional night not pre-booked. Pre booking is a pain in the arse, especially if you don't know the area you're booking, but it's even worse when you have pre-booked and turn up to find your area overflowing with numbers above allocation.

Ya know what cam!?… I think you & a dual cab with a canopy go hand in hand. You look to me like your current happiness level with the 300 is like 90% but I reckon with the right dual cab & canopy setup it’d be like 110%. Just my uneducated & meaningless opinion. I enjoyed the video apu 👍

N80 hiluxs have the same code, I’ve read the pcs and traction control needs to be disabled when 4wdriving, to avoid having this code come up. Pretty sure only Toyota can clear it

Yeah I’m pretty certain I had TC off- it’s the first thing i do on sand! I think you’re right regarding clearing it, took it to two different workshops with different scan tools and they couldn’t read/clear it. Frustrating!

You need 8 days on K'gari. There is so much to see and do. One very overlooked location is the Valley of the Giants, it's an gobsmacking drive thru masive king ferns but be warned, access track is very overgrown, (bush pin striping will occur on your duco), the media tree, that's a half day alone. Long ways to return for you, shame you didn't allocate more time.

Once knew it as Fraser Island religiously, as the majority did, but for the last few years been swayed to K'gari as that's what it know as today, irrespective of die hard deniers. All merchandise is now K'gari, all camping bookings are now K'gari, hard not to know the actual Qld Government allocated name. 👍

I’m guessing you’ve already sorted your malfunction code but mine did that and only Toyota could clear the error. It was a wheel sensor that over spun and sent the driver assist into malfunction. To stop it from happening I have to turn off the traction control fully and the PCS. Be interesting to see if yours is the same.

I havnt had it cleared yet, couldn’t get into Toyota before flying out. I’m pretty certain I had TC/VSC off. It’s the first thing I do on sand! It’s bloody annoying

@@WildTouring yeah it’s a ridiculous set up and because it’s an error it doesn’t show up as a code. I find and I filmed it during my Hilux review, that even though the dash shows that everything is off, you have to actually go into the menu and turn off the PCS. Then when you turn the car off and back on again, you have to do it again 🤦‍♂️
