Loved the edit and your version of events, Cam! Cheers for joining us 🎣🏕🐟 You're absolutely right about all of the things you mentioned at the end of the video. It's all the little things that people don't see. There's a constant feeling of anxiety with these island trips, even for us, as you're constantly dancing with danger, and then there's the unpredictability of the weather which can and does throw a spanner in the works every now and then, but in all, it adds to the thrill having that sense of danger and it's what makes it that much more endearing 🤠 we hadn't slept on an island in 6+ months, as we're always opting for the boat ourselves these days for safety reasons, but we thought we'd give you the full experience whilst we had 2 boats for backup 😁 Yourself and Jonesy were great company. We look forward to whatever crosses our paths next, cheers! - Rohan and Eden 🍻

Cheers guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a learning experience, and I was able to put a few little bits I’d picked up into practice on another boat camping trip on the way home in Shark Bay (where I also learnt a few things 🤣 you’ll see…). Thanks for the good company, showing us your beautiful coast and helping us not loose the boat overnight 🤣

I miss boating. It was a big part of my life when I was young. Don't think I've been on a boat since I've been out of the Navy over 30 yrs ago. Shame. I'll just have to live vicariously through these videos for now😊 Thank you, Cam! Cheers!🎉

Cam, on the "creature" comforts, when we reach a "certain" age we are not as tough as young people and we want some comfort. I have noticed between camping out of a swag vs camper trailer, I enjoy the trailer more and would probably enjoy a caravan even more. Great video as always, you are living all our dreams with the places you get invited to so don't fret about how the video was presented too much, we all know what goes into making these. Keep living the dream and all the best for the future and with the family.

Love your content Cam. I can concur largely with your sentiments re boat camping. We have a core group of 4 of us that have been camping out of 4wd's and boats for over 25 years now and whilst both scenarios are awesome and the places we go and the things we see are just outstanding, the boat trips are the hardest work. I have my car set up for touring with everything I need at hand, and I truly miss it when I'm separated from it.

The round up was good. Yes a day out on the boat just knackers you. I believe it's a sign of your age, when young you can camp on the ground then you buy all the gear, then you get a camper trailer, then a pop top then a full height caravan. All of this you've done. Very enjoyable.👍

When it comes to the "creature comforts" I feel it's more about less struggling and effort for more time to chill and relax. It comes with age, apparently. I'm not at the van stage, but every day in the bush, the alluring call of a toilet after coffee is becoming harder to ignore.

Brilliant ep Cam, I've worked up in Karratha and Dampier for 20+ years, and regularly fly over the islands there, looking down wishing I was on the fishing instead of working. Between the Dampier island, Monties, and Barrow, the fishing is there is incredible. Just the heat and flies that is the killer in the summer!
@mwilliams21014 ай бұрын
The drone shots in this ep, mate! Good god makes me want to pack the car right now. Loved it thoroughly. Thanks for the quick bookend to the video, I think it’s really important to see that even a camping and outdoor veteran such as yourself is still always learning. It puts into perspective that everyone has those days (which I had recently setting up a camper trailer in a torrential downpour) I also think there is nothing wrong with acknowledging the creature comforts, because it keeps you comfy while adventuring .. and isn’t that the point?

We got a bigger boat last year for camping stuff and, once you get it right, it is much cleaner than camping on the beach but the lack of space to stretch your legs does have challenges. We (family of 4) sleep on the boat but we anchor really shallow so we can get off and run around. Key for us is to keep it really really simple. Sea water wash and fresh water rinse if need be, or a wet wipe for the sensitive bits. Tarp down on the deck before the mattress to keep the days smells away while you sleep but the most comforting thing is two anchors down when you sleep, at 45 degrees from another so if one does drag and foul up then you have the other one. In saying that, we have good anchors and have not dragged but it allows me to sleep well at night…..oh and thicker anchor rope so if there is a chafey spot then you have redundancy there too. That has got us through 2 nights with gusts up to 35 knots in Shark bay, anchoring in 1m of water with 15m of anchor rope out on each anchor.

Fishing up north really kills it for fishing down here :) Those grinners can be a pain though. Last time we went to Cleaverville there was a plague of them, they were even hitting surface lures, something I have never seen before. My absolute favourite area around Karratha. I miss going up every winter.

I'm the same when I'm camping tbh. I'm too old to be uncomfortable, unwashed, sunburnt or eaten by bugs. I go to relax and enjoy myself so if others want more then they can leave me behind. I got the impression from the video that you were a bit out of your comfort zone but that was only to be expected imo. Good video and that last camping spot was a cracker.
