I am enjoying this new Frasier show. I was kind of shaky in the first episode, but I feel that it gets better with each episode. It is funny and the characters are growing on me.

I think the newbies needed time to settle into their characters (i loved tv show boy meets world; it was hilarious. They said the same thing that it took them 3 months to figure out howcto portray their characters and feel what works).

I notice that on these clips many people who really don't like this show, don't like it because it's not the old Frasier. Stop comparing it. This is a new show with new characters except for Frasier. Each show is getting better and the cast is coming together.

🤦🏻‍♀️ this show is supposed to be the continuation of the old one. Ergo, we're going to compare the two...and see where this new one fails.

@@lenawagenfuehr53 - This show is not a continuation of the old one. Same character but different show. Just like Frasier spinning off from Cheers this show is another spin-off. Sane Frasier, totally different cast, totally different show. Anyone who wants to see the old Frasier will remain disappointed.

The producers and writers themselves are trying to make this like the old show. So it’s natural to compare. Even the font in the credits is exactly the same.

Instead of melodramatics I think they just need better writing and character development. A sitcom from the 2000s was written differently for the average viewer 30-40s. The average American in their 30s and 40s now is considerably less mature and the popular language is different. I’m 41 but grew up w/ one decade older siblings so my tastes are influenced by theirs. So you have to consider which generation they’re catering to here and which age/ life group? Young adults in college and post college, working middle aged adults w/ young kids? My generation the 1980s kids who have children going to in high school or the hippies who’s kids graduated college? I think this show is doing it’s best to check all those boxes but everyone has to realize the more mass appeal there is it’s more likely to be watered down. And consider that the story of Frasier’s son Freddie is from his second marriage to Lilith when Frasier was in his early-mid 30s in the 1990s. He was a professional psychiatrist at 29-30. Frasier had his father move in w/ him most likely in his early 30s in Seattle around 1994. So in 2024 Freddie neé (1991 or 1992) would be 32 about the same age as Frazier was. The story line has come full circle so the show has to appeal to people who are currently in their 30s to Frazier’s age which would be 60s. This age group is highly difficult to relate to b/c the writing would cater to the older crowd and leave the younger generations to catch up which should be the case. since 2011 Sadly mainstream media tv writers have donned on a more vernacular less verbose vocabulary that the audience is left with tv sit com writing. The beginning of the series Frasier was unique in that sense because it wasn’t meant to be a sit com, it was the backstory story of an existing character who’s uprooting his professional & personal life in order to fulfill their self-imposed familial duties. Technically this is the same story which case in point has already been done. The new series has to be about something else and from a different perspective in order to lend credibility to its characters and storyline.

Not bad, however... (0:00) At this point I am willing to start a Kickstarter to raise money for enough cash to bribe the producers of this show to straighten Frasier's collar. Deets, as they say, to follow. (1:03) Don't get me wrong, I love David's speech. However, this joke is 10x funnier if instead of Frasier asking for the pen the writers had David panic when he heard Frasier say he had a "mild bee allergy" and injected Frasier out of fear. (1:09) "Splotchy" is not cured by epinephrine. Epinephrine is administered during a life-threatening throat closure to relax the muscles of the throat and prevent suffocation. The "splotchy" continues. (1:11) He said, "...your epi' pen." as if he only had the one. People with life-threatening allergies always carry two as one dose may not be enough. (1:25) It is possible that Freddy overheard while descending the stairs, but he was not technically in the scene when David said "...stung by a bee." so I find Freddy's line, "Whoa, you were stung by a bee?" to be of dubious provenance. (2:47) Kudos for getting the correct location for the epi pen stab. Always outer side of a thigh. (2:53) So "dizziness" is a side effect, but nothing resembling drunkenness. As a matter of fact, it's factory-made adrenaline, so it's the same as if you've just won Fortnite: shaky hands, acute awareness, pounding heartbeat, and the urge to dance above a rapidly-disintegrating corpse.

Kelsey Grammar is good as always, but the other characters need more development. I am not getting a clear idea of who they are yet and that is why it is not landing or the chemistry is not hitting its groove

I just don't believe in any of these characters. Even Frasier seems at his manic worst ALL the time. If one of the characters were removed I would not care (or notice). Could you remove any of the 5 central characters of the first iteration of Frazier? No way. If anyone other than the titular character in this new series were removed it would be irrelevant. Even Maris had more personality than these people. I really want to like this but.......no.

Different people have different tastes. For example - I couldn't stand Friends, The Office or Big Bang. I couldn't make it through one episode and I tried various times. But I enjoyed Frasier. Didn't like the first episode of this reboot but now, by episode eight, I'm enjoying it. It doesn't hold a candle to the old Frasier but I've stopped comparing the two and this seems to get funnier each episode.

The first half of this episode was such a dull and badly acted nonsense that I almost stopped watching. From David's conversation with that cartoonishly stupid jock (at Harvard?) whose actor has acting skills of a toddler to the incredibly dull and at the same time irritating gang of firefighting morons at the pub to Eve's oh so "not" heavy-handed tirade about Frasier's drinking, it was taken straight from the cheapest and thinnest sitcoms a la Full House. The second half was much better and I actually enjoyed interaction between Freddy and David (whom I otherwise consider the most pointless and flawed of the main characters). And I must say I overall liked Freddy in this episode, both his drunk shenanigans and his eagerness to exercise his intellect. This could be a seed of some interesting future character development (but I won't hold my breath).

I hated Fredrick's drunk acting, I actually hate any drunk acting and I really hate drunks and don't find anything humorous about listening to any drunk person speak. I also hate Fredrick's bunch of firefighter friends, they are annoying, like the 3 stooges. ugh...

I agree with this 99%, however I thought Freddy being "smart drunk" was really a great B-story and that Frasier saying "My son!" salvaged the first half for me.

This is so so lame. Pathetic, in fact. Poor Kelsey Grammer doing his best surrounded by nothing characters played by diversity hires, the poor man's Nialls substitute, and the terrible actors playing Freddy and David. Worse than all that, though, the writing is like a crap after school special from the 90s. Dreadful
