+Joshua Addison, you're wrong. Love this! The best part is later, when everyone in the hospital is praising Frasier for saving Martin and being a hero...and then a nurse comes out and gives a play-by-play of exactly how he scared his father into a heart attack. Everyone turns against him, and Frasier defends himself-and of course at that exact moment the woman he’s trying to help shows up, sees him, and screams bloody murder. The writing on this show was genius!

Yeah, one second everyone in the emergency room is telling Frasier he's such a good son, looking after his elderly father, then they're all staring at him in horror 😱😧😲 when the nurse (love her matter of fact tone 😂) reads from the incident report "you then lured him out to the living room by ringing the doorbell, then jumped out at him, waving a meat cleaver 🔪"

I love all the mime-like physical humor that Kelsey Grammer invested in the clown scene -- the exaggerated swagger, the 'Aha!' gesture when he remembers the cleaver, and even the way he rings the bell, like he's miming strangling a small animal. *DINGd-DINGd-DINGdong...*

I once was an assistant on a research project where we were trying to see why people are afraid. The highest things we found seem to indicate that it has mostly to do with the makeup and three factors of the makeup: 1. Not being able to see the face 2. Painted on faces do not really move so you have a consistent look and 3. a long drawn out smile that seems to exist for no reason at all. It was a neat study.

Clown-fear has always seemed absurd to me, they bear noone ill-will, yet that phobia (or "hate", sometimes) is held by so many! So I appreciated learning about the reasons for it, now it makes sense to me. ( And re: your point about the appropriateness of this comment in a clip from a "comedy show" - Frasier was not always 100% pure 30 minutes of comedy, there were occassions here and there where the writers targeted one's brain or heart as well.).

So at sometime around midnight, or later, you are dressed as a clown and wait in the toilet. (No explanation of course as to why you just happen to have a clown costume with you, was it some plot device like in this episode?) At 2am (and if this story was real, it could have been 7am in the morning before someone got up to use the "head", an extra 5 hours of waiting) your friend walks in and sees you. I think maybe it was 2am and you were dreaming. Or it's next day and you are day dreaming. Or bullshitting. Or just an idiot. And really, you came to You Tube to find the Frasier clip, to write to tell everyone you had JUST done it? Fucking loser.
