I think an overlooked feature of the twist whisk is how easy it would be to clean when flattened.

It actually even disassembled to be put in the dishwasher. And super easy remove excess batter. The downside imo is that you can’t be as aggressive when whisking. But overall i am very happy with mine.

About the plastic wrap roller: it comes with a roll so you’ll exceed the return policy from Amazon. By the time you figure out your favorite cling wrap doesn’t fit it’s too late to return.

I mean, that isn't even an issue, the issue is why does this exist? If you're going to buy that thing, just go to a Costco and buy the giant cling wrap roll which dispenses exactly the same way this one does. Even has the cutter.

Seriously. You can see and hear the cheapness of this turd. My cling wrap comes in a fitted box that's easy to dispense & store, and has a serrated edge which cuts quite easily. Don't all of them come like this? (Also, I'll pass on using the included open-air, unsealed cling wrap, with no labels, paperwork (is it even food-grade?), from some poorly regulated multi-use factory... 😕)

The ChefsTemp thermometer would be 'okay' in a professional kitchen. As a chef, it's probably too big to put in our chef jacket pockets. However, many thermometers I use have the Celsius & Fahrenheit button on the outside and it's an annoyance to some of my cooks for how often that button gets switched in their pockets. I like the internal switch of the ChefsTemp and might order one of my own. Nice review! Maybe test the out of the box accuracy of thermometers in the future.

For the plastic wrap thingy, what they need is a small, thin, light container, maybe made of cardboard or some other very light, cheap material, that you hold in one hand while you pull the wrap out with the other using a thin serrated edge attached along the length of the container to cut the plastic wrap.

I haven't tried that particular whisk but I have one that I guarantee has the same problem (for me at least) as that one. Sometimes to get a really good mix I like to spin the whisk by rolling it between my hands and the handle on that one is so thick that there's no way I can get a good spin like that, whereas my go-to whisk's handle is no thicker than a pen so I can get a really fast spin mixing a lot of air into the food, or just simply getting everything moving better as I mix.

Twist whisk is nice as being able to flatten it makes it easier to clean than a traditional whisk. The paper tower topper is a good idea, I just don't see why you would buy one. You can find the .STL file (3D mode file) online and just take it to your local library and have it 3D printed for free. Cling wrap dispenser is pointless, it literally doesn't solve any issue, if you like the cutting style dispense, you can buy rolls that have those cutters built onto the box. For those who aren't aware, because apparently a lot of people don't know, there a tabs on either end of cling wrap boxes that you push in and they hold the roll in the box (same goes for aluminum foil boxes)

Problem with Silicon whisks is that they still have metal tines inside (that's how they keep their shape and rigidity). And, if you use them in, say, a cast iron dutch oven or against hot steel (making gravy or something), they can break at the tips (the tip being the "end", or part that probably touches the surface most).

My concern with the twist whisk is all of the crevices created by the sections for each wire. It’s probably easier to clean the whisk part when it’s flat, but I’m not neat enough to always avoid getting batter or flour in the parts at the base of the wires. I’d end up with a crusty mess and spend hours with a toothpick trying to get pancake mix or dried egg out of those cracks after washing it. Cool idea - especially being flat for storage - but I’d get annoyed if the gunk wouldn’t come out in the dishwasher. And I really wanted to like the slicer thing, but the tines didn’t line up as soon as it was open…and, you know, the whole falling apart thing. Love your channel!

Nice demonstration, James! The paper towel topper looks like a great solution to the old problem of getting the paper towels to tear off without getting 3 times as many as you want or getting the other paper towels all wet and/or dirty. If I didn't have an undercabinet mounted paper towel dispenser, I'd definitely get one of those. The paper towel topper is back in stock on Amazon. The Chef's temp thermometer definitely looks much more useful than the brand I currently own. It reads much faster, and being able to twist the probe to either side is handy. Also, having it turn on on its own is nice. The C/F switch being inside would really only bother me once. The price is a stopper for me, though, even with the discount. The twist whisk would be good, but I never use a whisk, so it's not for me. The other 2 items don't work well enough for me to even consider them.

I love the simplicity of the paper towel plate. That probably costs $0.30 to make.

I have an old metal flat whisk. It works great. I prefer it over the other kind.

At Costco, you can purchase plastic wrap etc with the slide cutter built into the box already. It works quite well & since it's made especially for the products, no problems with a role being too big or too wide. The only concern for some people would be that it's a rather large role of plastic wrap, aluminum foil, etc, so they won't fit in my kitchen drawers. My work around is to store them in the pantry, which works well for me.

Hi Love your Reviews, Thank you for them. One thing I would love to see as I use Whisk a lot is a whisk cleaner. Its so hard to clean them. the plastic scraper things you put on before use seems ok but really dont clean them, so far anyway.

Considering all I use paper towels for is wiping greasy pans before washing and cleaning up cat puke, I really don't care if the top stays germ free and pretty. TFS 😻 Britt

The thermometer America's Test Kitchen recommends has all those functions and more and is very cheap. I think it's branded Alphagrillers?

The topper has been wonderful. I mean, it's probably overpriced, but it really does exactly what it says it does.

We had a larger scale plastic wrap dispenser at my old job. We stopped using it for multiple reasons at one point. The boxes of plastic wrap had a cutter already! What is the point in taking it out of the box and wrestling with it to put it in the other container? Also I wish that whisk was a dreamfarm item. It’d be called twhisk. Missed opportunity

Proof of WHY I don't like plastic wrap. Even in their own cardboard dispensers, that stuff is a menace to your blood pressure.
