I just missed it in 1996 I was in highschool in Alabama at the time. I wasn't old enough to go alone, I wanted to go bad but my brother couldn't stop to get me. He crossed over from Louisiana at Grambling State to go.

He is exactly correct. After the Olympics Atlanta was a dope city. I have many friends that made Atlanta their home after graduating from college. Lots of opportunity.

I remember when “Couldn’t be betta Playa” feat Too Short came out and Too Short pulled up in a Porsche on Wesley Chapel Rd in Decatur. And I believe that house he’s talking about was in Cascade Heights in Southwest Atlanta

I moved to the u.s back in 96 and I remember driving over to Atlanta with some dudes I went to school with and they were hoping for any signs of life from freaknik. The stories they were telling in the car on the way there had me in awe at the time haha

I sat in VIP at club 112 with the 2 live crew dancers when they pulled up in twin trans ams.Curved couch with the yellow ropes separating.I felt like superman that night!!!!

I was there during those times. Escape with my cousins who was high rollers. I was to young. I got in trouble with my mom because I was 16 and 17. I remember the year I was there Suge and the 🐐 Makaveli The Don was there. I believe 95. Mannnn best time of my life and nothing never topped it since then and I'm 44 now. Facts 💯💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

I was always interested in knowing more about Freaknik but I came across a post on social media from someone who was a kid back then and he saw and heard of the carjackings, the shootings, the fights and even the rapes that were going on during those times. interesting how we glorify these kinda things within our culture. Not saying it was all bad but I know it wasn't all good.

Southwest Atlanta is my side of town. I remember my grandma was looking for property, and we were looking at this one house in a really fancy neighborhood. The neighbors came over and greeted us and proceeded to say Too Short lives a few houses down. My mouth dropped. 😮
