And Barry Grauman, NBC, in my opinion, embarrassed Fred on his last ever show, which also guested Jack Benny. Not wanting to give him a proper send off, they (NBC) did to Allen what they always did to him when he ran long: cut him in mid sentence. You would have thought they would have given him leeway on his final ever show.
