Thanks for posting this. I had not seen it before. "Introducing Kim Novak!" She was only 20 years old here and, as of this writing, she's still with us at 90 years old! Four years later, she'd be cast in Hitchcock's "Vertigo." She retired from her acting career in 1991 and now lives in rural Oregon. Fred MacMurray is 45 years old here. Six years after this movie, he swore off playing tough/bad guys after the public's reaction to his character in Billy Wilder's "The Apartment." Thus began his role as "Steve Douglas" in TV's "My Three Sons." Emmy-winning E.G. Marshall is 39 here. 1954 was another busy year for him. He was in ten productions that year alone including "The Caine Mutiny." Three years later, he would be in "12 Angry Men." He was in almost 200 productions during his long career right up until his death in 1998 at 84 years of age.

An assembly of great actors. An excellent film noir with the incomparable anti hero/villain played by Fred MacMurray, playing a similar role which he created in the film classic ‘Double Indemnity,’ made ten years earlier. Phillip Carey, was a talented and accomplished actor, who played heroes and villains during his time as an actor in Hollywood. He should be commended in his role - as should EG Marshall, a wonderful character actor, who appeared in major supporting roles in countless films. To add to this illustrious supporting cast, the delightful Kim Novak, who always played the glamorous but tough minded and feet on the ground film actress.

For those familiar with and who enjoy film noir it's hard not to enjoy, to varying degrees of enthusiasm, "Pushover" -- from the typewriter of Roy Huggins who within a few years became huge in television via "Maverick," "The Rockford Files," "The Fugitive." "Alias Smith and Jones," "Run for Your Life," "Hunter," etc. "Thank you again, 'Donald P. Borchers,' for another good show." An oversight, a minor plot point, I caught within the movie's exciting climax -- as bullet-riddled Fred MacMurray lies bleeding, yet talking still, on the rain soaked street's pavement, his partner Phillip Carey leads Dorothy Malone away back to her apartment. Yet it's been established and reinforced that Malone is a registered nurse -- so of course she would 'see what she could do' to aid the wounded man in their immediate proximity while all await the ambulance's arrival.

I'm a big fan of film noir, never seen this till today and it is terrific! Fred MacMurray, who may have been cinemas all time heel from such films as "The Caine Mutiny" and "The Apartment" is back at it in a role quite similar to "Double Indemnity" as Fred is once again led astray by a sexy woman to engage in crime. This time the femme fatale is Kim Novak, who looks absolutely gorgeous in her film introduction as Fred becomes her "Pushover" Great script by Roy Huggins, who also created "Maverick" and "Rockford Files." Plenty of cigarettes and big cars!

"willfriedseverin4318," In an era when nearly one out of two, 46%, of adult Americans smoked -- seeing as how the U.S. Surgeon General's report on the harm cigarette smoking caused didn't come out until a full decade after "Pushover"'s 1954 theatrical release, how could they?

Kim Novak looked her best. Why eas she always paired off with men old enough to be her father? As gor the movie.... "Double Indemnity" meets "The Man Who Cheated Himself".

They knew how to keep a person’s interest with the opening scene of the young , and very buxom Kim Novac in a white backless outfit.

Oh, I thought I recognized Paul Richards. I liked the few times acting the role of the good guy. However, most of the times he played a weak or sneaky and one time a self delusional older brother. That was a sad one. 😢😢😢😢

Paul is my favorite actor. Eyes, lips, voice, and of course talent. Love him in his tv show "Breaking Point " ,a spin-off of Ben Casey. Something about his eyes, intense yet soulful. He was considered an actor's actor. Very talented.

It takes a lot of moxie to say, "Get out," to Kim Novak.
