Maybe it was possible to make it completely different, as those three had done. Using the same ideas, but without those three, didn't appeal to me, and they keep having one presenter that makes me want to throw a brick at my TV.

Chris is a great driver, and I kinda enjoy Freddie. But Paddy is just wrong for the part of leading the show. I finally gave up on the show this year. The guys don't "click" and the dialog feels forced. I hope Freddie is OK, but face it.... no one has wrecks like Hammond.

I like Freddie, Chris and Paddy and it's good for a laugh but to me it's like a Top Gear spin-off series. I still think Top Gear should've ended after Jeremy's departure. It's never been the same since. In fact I think the magic wore off a few years before that when they started becoming more scripted.

I can't watch Paddy McGuinness. I like Freddie Flintoff, but he doesn't seem very natural, doing what's essentially an acting part most of the time. Chris Harris is great, but it's like having Richard Hammond without, Clarkson and May. Chris Harris with two genuine petrol heads, that aren't already celebrities, might work, but I doubt it will ever come close to Clarkson, Hammond and May.

I don’t mind Freddy. He has a sense of fun about him and doesn’t take himself too seriously where is McGuinness is totally obsessed with how he looks for some bizarre reason and knows fuck nothing about automobiles. They give him scripts, but I’m sure that half the time he has no idea what he’s saying. And I’m pretty sure that they use other drivers and pretend it’s him. I know they needed some kind of presenter for it. God, did they get it wrong with McGuinness. I’d think I’d like Freddie to stay, and somebody else to replace McGuinness. I like Catchpole too. If Freddie does go, I’d be quite happy to see Rory Reid come back.

I have tried watching it but as soon as Paddy starts shouting monosyllabic single words repeatedly I have to switch off, he has no vocabulary, no knowledge and little talent. I bet the next co-presenter will be chosen to fit quotas ahead of suitability.

You can choose from the analytical attention to detail of Doug De Muro with his "quirks and features" sections to countless Top Gear rip offs (Some of which are actually quite good!) I would even consider Top Gear USA on BBC 3.

​@@cathrynm Finding the right "chemistry" will be difficult. Like I said there are plenty of experts who have a very good knowledge of motoring related issues, but how many of them can combine that knowledge with genuine wit and humour to match Clarkson, Hammond and May.

I remember when Chris Evans and Matt le blanc were brought on and it was the most awkward forced atmosphere I ever experienced from TV. The new guys aren’t much better at all. Feel like 3 presenters, not 3 mates, which is what the original guys had… chemistry. Haven’t watched Top Gear barely at all since the original guys left, definitely was the end of an Era.

I wish Freddie all the best and a quick recovery. Regarding TG - when Clarkson, Hammond and May left, the show went downhill. Chris Harris was a good pick but McGuinness & Flintoff are not true petrolheads. While seeing them poke at each other is fun, I think there should be better cast choices. To be honest I think BBC's mistake is that they are trying to find celebrities and put them in these roles. They should instead look for new talents among true petrolheads. Perhaps having a look at some of the UK automotive KZbin channels might help. I'd love to see how Alex from Autoalex Cars (and Car Throttle) fares alongside Chris for example.

I have watched as many of TOP GEAR as i can remember ( proberly not all) but, a lot back in the days of HAMMOND , CLARCKSON , MAY & THE ORIGINAL BLACK STIG & right upto the white one replaced the black one. & i found very entertaining with them. But, when Harris McGuiness , & Flint😅off joined the show. I went from enjoying it to TOTALLY COULDN'T WAIT till next show because of the extreme wicked sense of humour on each other. I am quite saddened to hear that Freddie got injured on the T.G track at Dunsfold But, hopefully he will fully recover I like many millions of others will be deeply saddened if the show was cancelled indefinite. Lets hope Freddie has time to re-think this through carefully before he makes any judgement he may regret later. ( not saying he will but, not saying won't either). Mr indestructible as he know on the show. But, sadly not this time. These three have been the very best & most entertaining host & presenters on the show to date I do hope the show does return once Freddie has not only time to fully recover but, time to think things over. It will so sad not to turn the tv on & be filled with their barmy & straight talking humour from ALL THREE not just one. Anyway GET WELL FRED & A VERY SPEEDY RECOVERY PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY!!!! I hope Freddie doesn't quit. I really like him. He's my favorite of the new trio. BBC should fire the other 2. I think Paddy's annoying and Chris is like a younger and more boring version of James May. No. What you need to do is replace Chris Harris with another "Northern lad" who can communicate on an equal wavelength to "Paddeh" and "Freddeh". Keith Lemon would be an ideal candidate. Imagine, 3 Northern lads laughing and giggling with each other, calling each other nob-heads and bell-ends. And all whilst driving the latest hyper-cars in some far off exotic location. What could be better than that for a Sunday evening on BBC1?
