I'd wait until Kendrick was a bit older. I didn't think Kendrick could make anything better than GKMC, but TPAB came out and I was pleasantly surprised. Now, can he top TPAB, or will he, like other legends, begin to make some less successful LPs? This idea would be a fantastic 4th album for Kendrick, I'm sure it'd be better than GKMC and Section.80

Just wanted to throw an opinion out. This whole album is an absolute masterpiece. One of the best hardcore/drug/gangsta rap albums ever. But the real opinion is that I believe Thuggin is a gangsta rap magnum opus. I love all the songs on this album equally, but I feel that thuggin is the song that truly sums up the whole album and genius collaboration altogether. The three verses are all perfect. I feel like the verses ascend in urgency and importance. Again, this whole album is incredible. One of if not my favorite album of all time. But I just feel the essentiality of thuggin every time I hear it. I say damn every time it finishes 😂

I partially agree, but saying you wish there were time stamps to know when the jump scares were doesn’t constitute for a review

Before yesterday I had heard of Madlib and Freddy Gibbs but never listened to any of their music,for that matter I had never seen any of theneedledrop reviews. Let me say I am pleasantly surprised by all. Your reviews seem to be well thought out and based in genuine experience with the music. Pinatas was an incredible surprise, the beats were great and Gibbs' material was on point. As an 'old schooler' and with what is being sold to us as "hip hop" today, hearing this album was refreshing and helps restore my faith in the genre. Great work by all, keep it up!

Lol he said he was on the fence with his previous album's "hooks were too trashy". Well those were mixtapes and most rap artist go harder on mixtapes but a when you drop album for retail stores you have to take it down a notch. I've been fan almost 5 years now, he can flow fast or slow, delivery is crazy and he's a story teller. What else can you ask for in artist especially a rap artist. I appreciate the full reviews you give, very informative👌.... "Saggin til Im 40, still lyrically shaper then these short bus shorties"

@theneedledrop10 жыл бұрын
do you really need to use that word to review anything?
@Bennycyl10 жыл бұрын
theneedledrop I just think it's kinda funny. There were plenty songs in albums that had the title in the name. And you just didn't talk about the track at all. But I get it. I'd do the same thing

I found Freddie Gibbs "ghetto" song on TV a while ago, without ever hearing of the dudes name. I loved what I heard and did my research on his other music. He is currently my favorite rapper because all of his songs are interesting and he can flat out rap. It was nice to see that he got a 9 cuz I respect theneedledrops opinion a lot.
