I really feel that God brought Montserrat (Montsey) into Freddie’s life at the EXACT moment when he was going to need such a special friend. Collaborating with Montsey allowed Freddie to fulfill what he said was a life long dream: to record an album of opera. Her friendship also brought him so much JOY, and vice versa.

Oh boy we're in the Freddie and Montserrat rabbit hole, There's another fantastic song from the album called " How Can I Go On." You might want to have a few tissues handy. Thanks for staying in the Queen catalog, we love it.🌈👑💙👏

In an early 80’s interview, Freddie spoke about his admiration for Monserrat. A few years later there he was cowriting an entire album to perform with her! This collaboration is fire, How Can I Go On, Exercises in Free Love, etc. but Golden Boy is my favorite Thanks!

Yay you found Freddie and Monsey’s rabbit hole. This whole album Freddie Mercury and Mike Moran co-wrote and it’s brilliant. I love watching you listen and take it all in. Great job. There’s so much to listen to. Now: Much more Queen and Freddie’s solo album Mr. Bad Guy too. I think you should check out Stone Cold Crazy, My Melancholy Blues, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and of course Queen’s artistic sting to their first manager that stole a lot of their $ until they caught him: Death on Two Legs which really shows off Freddie’s ability to use lyrics to express emotional times including anger. lol. There are amazing lyrics and the band rocks out their fury. It’s wild.

Awww my favorite song off the Barcelona album!! Freddie wrote the music & lyrics (collaborating with Mike Moran) for most of the songs on the album except two. Freddie & Mike elicited the talents of lyricist Sir Tim Rice for The Golden Boy & The Fallen Priest. According to Rice, “Freddie ran out of lyrics”. And commented that Freddie is “the golden boy”. 👨🏻🌻 Montsy passed away in 2018. ☹️

Thank you for doing this! It is my favorite of all with his colab's with Montsey. If you want to, might want to try some Freddie solo. I would suggest "Living On My Own" and "In My Defence" two totally different styles but both fantastic. Thanks again!

Loving the Queen reactions!! Our Freddie was way too talented for this world. I could name 50 more live performances off the top of my head you should do next, but the 1 I REALLY REALLY want to see your reaction to is this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH2rZpRnqLaAndksi=qmISbtX-pOdkiuT4. Not technically a Queen song and its not live, but I guarantee you will be glad you reacted to it. One of Freddie’s solo songs, “In My Defence”. Imo, his absolute best vocal performance ever. And thats saying a LOT. And the video is a montage of live clips and it WILL be the most heart touching and powerul you have ever seen. There were a few people who tried to “enhance” this video by adding in snippets of interviews but they really just ended up ruining the video. The link I shared with you is to the original video. It is emotional and powerful and just perfectly showcases Freddie’s range and angelic voice. Ty again for all your reactions! Im loving them.
