Montserrat remembered to that night this way: "While he was singing, I noticed that his eyes were shiny with tears. I gave him my hand. He clasped it and kissed it. It was clear he was suddenly aware of his own fate. They were tears of farewell. It was his goodbye, at least to the stage." Freddie's best kept secret was his illness, only a few people knew about it, but Montserrat was so dear to him, that he told her 2 years prior to the band members.

My favorite with Montsy. He got so emotional during this song. He wouldnt let go of Montsy's hand. And how they look into each other's eyes.

As usual you are exactly right, this is the closest Freddie gets to how he felt about dying at that time. He was so brave xx

Freddie did know by this time that he had AIDS and was terminal. Singing with Montserrat was a dream of his and when he finished the videos for this album, it is said that he had tears in his eyes which is so untypically Freddie, but I think he loved this leg of his musical journey and knew this would be the last time he would be on the stage with Montserrat doing this style of performance. This is so beautiful, Freddie is doing so many incredible things with his voice. Montserrat taught Freddie a lot about vocals and he in turn taught her a lot about recording, video and songwriting. It was a beautiful collaboration and loving friendship. Thank you.

It is heart-breaking to realise that Freddie already knew that his life would be short and this brings extra meaning to the words he was singing. Beautiful song and it is just so wonderful that he got these opportunities to perform with Montsy, and they became such dear friends - you can see the love in their faces. 🌹

The song comes from spring 1987. On the album its beginning is seamlessly merged with the end of the previous track. It features Queen band mate John Deacon! “For Freddie, Montserrat was something out of this world. He had such love & admiration for her, he was always watching to make sure everything was perfect for her.” (comments by Montserrat’s Niece)

I knew that you would love this one, i could see it in your face. I'm glad you liked it. When Montserrat turned and looked at Freddie with her hand over her mouth was because she couldn't believe the power and perfection that just came out of him, either could I. Freddie always left everything on the stage and this song can make me cry every darn time.🫶👑🌈💙

Thanks so much, Mann! This is my favorite collab with Freddie & Montsy.. I love how she is so entranced with his opening, and she can't even resist "lip-synching" to it.. his spoken word part is also very sweet ... he actually had quite a deep voice... really appreciate your reaction!

Two Angels came together and created a masterpiece. They were great friends, and loved each other.I appreciate you so much , for not interrupting Freddie💕 Your right. Freddie got his Aids results during that time, and also being outed by Paul Prenter to the press . All at the same time
