The cats were his babies. When he was on tour he actually called the house just to speak with them. Phoebe had to hold the cats to the phone so he could speak with them. Especially Delilah. His favorite. Joe used to have to Make fresh fish for them and alternate with cat food. Thank you for doing this video. Its a joy when you do Freddie.

Thanks for uploading this video that I suggested, many thanks I watch this video regularly since that my mother has many cats. This is one of the things that I admired of him really and he also loved dogs too but he loved cats more for their independent way of being because dogs are more bonded with their owners and certainly because his job he couldn't spend so much time with them. At the time he died, Freddie had six cats. But he had had others throughout his life as well. Freddie was so devoted to them that once when he was in Munich, he got a call that one of his cats had died and he flew back home immediately. Also, I think you're right about him not setting any boundaries or really understanding their behavior. I read that in his luxurious house with all its expensive furnishings, the cats repeatedly peed on the dining room drapes. He and his housemates assumed the cats were angry or getting revenge for something; they never figured out how to prevent it.
