My question is. ...is that some kind of Irish poem? Ps , they were from county cork

Poet Christina Rossetti was born in 1830, the youngest child in an extraordinarily gifted family. Her father, the Italian poet and political exile Gabriele Rossetti, immigrated to England in 1824 and established a career as a Dante scholar and teacher of Italian in London. He married the half-English, half-Italian Frances Polidori in 1826, and they had four children in quick succession: lovely poem

God Bless Dear Jim, for looking after Freddie. It must have been terrible, not only for his friends and fellow band mates of Queen, but for Jim, who had to see poor Fred so terribly I’ll, frail and weak, getting worse and worse by the day. This Terrible Disease, slowly destroying the Great Pretender, and wonderful showman he once was, reduced to a bedridden shadow of his former self. Jim was with him, to comfort and love him until his desperately ill and tormented body could take no more. I know that Freddie and Jim are in a better World now, in God’s eternal peace and love. United, where there is Heaven for Everyone. ❤️❤️

Jim's book about his life with Freddie was a spectacular read. The part where he took care of Freddie during his declining years was a real tear-jerker. To love somebody that intensely and then lose them in a short amount of time must've felt like a sucker punch to the gut. Freddie (various quotes): I just don’t trust anybody because I’ve been let down so many times. The more you’ve been let down, the more hurt you endure. I find it very hard to open up to people because I just don’t trust the buggers. You can’t win in my situation, and that’s the way it is. When you have success, it becomes very difficult. You find out the real baddies. I just take it as it comes now. In fact, that’s why I’ve built up a very hard exterior. I mean most of the time when people talk to me, I immediately think, “What do they want? Is he after this or that?…. I do put up a barrier around myself, so it is hard for people to get in and to know the real me. I fall in love much too quickly and that results in me getting badly hurt. I...end up getting hurt all the time. Maybe I just draw the wrong kind of people to me? I’ve got scars all over. But I can’t help myself because basically I’m a softie… I’ve cried rivers. I may be tough on the outside, but I’m very soft-centred. I have this hard, macho shell which I project on stage but there’s a much softer side too, which melts like butter. I’m very intricate and delicate. I can be very soft, very slushy and mushy… I can be very vulnerable, a real baby, which is invariably when I get trodden on… I’m a human being. I’d like people to recognise the fact that I’m a human being. They always blame the end of the love affair on me because I’m the successful one. Whoever I’m with, they seem to get into a battle of trying to match up to me, and overcompensating. And then they write a ”anal sex and tell” book full of lies to pay Freddie and Mary back for not giving him more money and respect. How can anyone POSSIBLY claim they have researched Freddie and then say that he wouldn't care that Hutton was writing a lot of lies and private truths in his ”Freddie Was Too Effeminite and Manipulative for MY Tastes and was a Raunchy Bottom” book? Freddie was well aware that there were a lot of selfish f*ckers in this world. But he was searching for someone who would NEVER write the kind of book Hutton wrote and who would never tell the lies Hutton told. That Hutton turned put to be just another ligger angling for his ”cut” of Freddie’s estate and who RETALIATED by writing that book so would have ”the last word” is horribly sad. And what’s worse. Freddie’s so-called fans are helping Hutton’s betrayal live on and proliferate instead of standing up for Freddie. The FINAL betrayal. The fans whom Freddie whispered ”I still love you” to in his last music video, end up helping his gardener spread lies after his death. And they attack the ONE person who never betrayed Freddie. Peter Freestone "She (Mary) was incredibly important. Don’t forget, she looked after him for the first years when he wasn’t making a penny and Mary was working. So she paid the rent, she paid for everything when they were living together” Freddie’s friend actress Yasmine Pettigrew: “They [Freddie and Mary] were very much a pair. He watched over her as well. He always wanted to know, if he was with Mary, that Mary was OK. She stuck by him and he stuck by her. You put your life in your hands if you tried to come between them, that’s for sure. Everyone knew that. They had a bond which people who are together forever have.” Yet here are Hutton’s fans pumping him up while they help him spread lies about Mary. SHAMEFUL. Anyone who thinks Freddie would've been OK with that, DOESN'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST CLUE who Freddie Mercury really was.

Excellent post. The difference between Mary and Jim is that she met a poor, unknown Freddie Bulsara who she supported and Jim met a wealthy and very famous Freddie Mercury who supported him. The idea that Hutton had no idea who Freddie Mercury was is laughable or that he stuck it out until the very end for love when the truth is that Jim assumed he would get Garden Lodge and the bulk of Freddie's money. When that didn't happen, he wrote his book for revenge.

Jim Hutton made the latter life of Freddie Mercury very happy. Mercury never fully came out as gay. He had a 'girlfriend' named Mary for many years. A Russian friend of mine took me to her in-laws home in London. From an upstairs parlour window. she showed me the garden and back of Mercury's house in Chelsea. This was some time after his death. Mary inherited the house and other items from Mercury and he had also ensured that Jim was cared for. Mary and Jim were the best things that ever happened to Freddie. They gave him dignity and privacy until the end. His Aids status was only revealed, with his permission, a matter of days before his death. I'm a massive Queen's fan. Thanks for showing Jim's grave.

Thank Elizabeth, yes I think he truly loved Mary and she was an amazing part of Freddies life, when Jim came along he kept Freddie grounded, Jim stopped his carriage clock the minute Freddie passed and bought the cloc back to Ireland, it's so very sad really ❤

That's the spirit, Sue. Never let the elements - or anything else - stop you getting the story. Someone told me to tape a pad of surgical gauze over the microphone ports of my camera in windy conditions. I've never tried it so I don't know how effective it is. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪

I bought a dead cat Mike cover, you might see the cord from it in some videos but that didn't even help for this wind, its really frustrating ❤
@beverleymangan17402 жыл бұрын
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I sometimes watch a lady who has moved to Alaska to teach. The wind up there is really bad and someone sent her something to put over her phone and that really helped. You got the sense of you battling against the wind at the start almost felt like it was blowing me back behind the screen😂 that arch at the start was lovely you really don't know who you will come across in a graveyard. I didn't really know about Jim but I do like the Queen music. Wishing you and you family a Happy Christmas and all the best in 2022.

I had the privilege of meeting Jim many times at the Queen Conventions. What a great guy he used to spend ages just sat talking about his beloved Freddie. Jim put Freddies live aid belt in the the charity auction and I was the luckiest person in the world as my beloved husband bid for it and bought it for me. Jim presented to me. I was on cloud nine. We kept in touch and it was so so sad when he crossed over to the spirit world. My husband and I were invited to stay with him but he sadly became too ill. I hope you're together again. God bless you both you're very sadly missed.

My friend has H.I.V. Luckily thanks to medication it’s dormant but the affect it has on her life is immense. All from one man not being honest. She can’t marry easily as nobody wants an H.I.V. positive wife, she can’t have children because she risks passing it on. Her life is totally different to what it could be, but at least she is alive.
