Freddo's Story

Freddo the Rottweiler is 7 years old and had been surrendered several times, living a lot of his life in pounds.
He’d shut down and wasn’t letting anyone in.
And his behaviour wasn’t helping him find or stay in a home.
Even at the end of his training, no one was coming forward for Freddo.
But the universe had a special plan for Freddo.

Me too! Even though I know the happy ending of him being adopted by his furever perfect family, I still cry. Every time I watch it I see something different. I think that he at first did not know what was happening but then when the girls welcomed him and were so excited I think he felt he was finally "home." He just touches my heart and I love seeing him.Thank you Evans Family.💚❤🐶

Freddo was waiting for Luke. those two were meant to be together. Getting a look back at how small the kids were, especially baby Wolfie. Freddo showed that protective nature pulling Elle out of the pool. We love you Freddo.

I love all the dogs at the farm, but I confess Freddo stole my heart. I would have loved to adopt him. When his adoption video came up I was so distressed because we hadn’t heard anything about meet and greets. Of course, I should have trusted you all, but I was terrified what it would do to him to just have to leave. It took me a minute to grasp what Elle was saying, but when I finally did, I started to cry with relief and happiness for him. Even then I couldn’t have imagined the wonderful dog he would become. A dog to chase away nightmares. A dog to help a little one learn to walk. A dog horrified of being swamped with puppies! 😂 Sheriff Freddo! Such an utterly utterly lovely, amazing dog.

Freddo won my heart on day one. His back story was so sad, was thrilled when he found his forever home. Such a beautiful, loyal dog his love of family and toys. So glad he never has to worry about being abandoned again. I truly think he understood he was home on his adoption day.

Oh boy - Freddo at his first Christmas, and wearing the family Christmas pajamas, really made me weepy. He is so totally committed to the family. Seeing him rescue Elle in the pool, another teary moment. I’m so glad he, and the others, found you at last.

Two of my favorite videos of Freddo are Pulling Elle from the pool gently. The other when he got between Wolf and the coffee table, the between Wolf and the brick wall. So if Wolf fell while learning to walk he fell on Freddo so he wouldn't get hurt. Freddo is a good boy

One of the things I really enjoy is how the dogs get special treats from time to time. Seeing Freddo cope with a tea cup of something special that has a cookie on the side is very funny and heartwarming at the same time. Clearly he can be a big goofy guy but we also get to see him being as delicate as possible. Freddo (and I suspect most dogs) has a huge range of ideas about how to do things. He may not go over fences as easily as Rosco but he has other outstanding qualities. Hooray for Freddo today and every day and twice on Tuesdays!

My older brother has been adopting rescued Rotties for over a decade, mostly older ones. It's amazing to me how he gets them to go from extremely frightened bundles of anxiety, to sweet, lovable calm dogs. He only has one now, and the poor boy literally backed up the stairs pissing himself the first time I stopped over. Now, big boy and I are best friends, and he's the sweetest, calmest dog who just wants to cuddle. He has this calming effect on other dogs too, I've seen smaller dogs go crazy and try to attack him, and he just stands there nonplussed, and they eventually calm down and be at ease. He's huge, and some people will give him wide berth, until they're invited over to say hi, and he wins them over every time. Absolutely loves kids too, so gentle.
