This is a very helpful video. I was able to take off bird poo that had baked into my car for almost 2 weeks. My car is black. This method solved it and I appreciate its simplicity as I get uneasy using chemicals on the paint. Thank you!

coming from someone with no car-cleaning knowledge or products, glad I found this video. I really don't mind bird poop here and there or my car being dirty... but the amount I had on my hood was out of hand lol. I didn't want to make things worse so I came to youtube.. but all the other videos had cleaning products I don't own! I modified the technique a little, adding a hot-water spray bottle and a microfiber cloth to dry off afterwards. simple, easy, and effective. thank you.

Thanks for the small tip. In my city of Mumbai, I have no clue what on earth are those pigeons eating, they poop the size of an Ostrich all over my car! I even bled once when I forcefully tried scrubbing the dried poop with a wet cloth using my thumb. Now I shall try this technique hopefully it should work.

Also if you are at home go and fill up a jug with hot water and pour that all over the bird poo. Hopefully most of it will be washed away, and the rest that is left should start to soften up. I agree, try not to put any pressure on the bird poo, otherwise it will scxratch the top coat (Laquer). If you ever get Squirrel poo on there that is much more difficult to remove. Lots and lots of hot water is needed. Hope that helps, Rob

The trick I learned whilst in the Army many moons ago was simply to spit on the poo and it wipes off easily. However, your method is more hygienic and I will pass it on to my wife who is rather heavy handed when cleaning the car. Thanks for this - much appreciated.

I tried it yesterday and it did not work. I have to use my nail to get the poo off then scrub my nails. However I will try it again repeat it 3 times to see if it works.

Totally safe to wipe down the area. If you have any car polish than maybe apply and buff to the whole panel to add more protection to the top coat.

Why does everyone that gives info solution on the net want to drag it out as much as possible. I've just watched another site for getting fly poo and bird poo from a car body. The guy wrote a bloody book then at the end says wet tissues is the answer.

Actually, you had to culturally infer that he meant "wet tissue" when he said "kitchen towel." I sure wouldn't want to get bird droppings on _my_ kitchen towel. That said, it did get me by in a pinch when access to more effective resources was unavailable. For that, I am thankful.
