I remember camping in the cold, did not have electric blankets to stay warm. When you get a bigger inverter it will drain more just running than most small ones. Fuses blow when the wire gets warm and this blows the fuse, if you go crazy like many do on wire size the fuse will not blow so remember that. Fuses and wires need to be correct size for load if you over do it you will not be protecting the device as the fuse will not blow. So many people think just get the huge cables and that will work but then you will not protect any devices by the the oversized wire and or fuse. I worked around with batteries and gear for years, it is not always bigger is better. If you are talking engines in my truck then bigger is better, I have a 5.7 in my jeep now and it is fun. Just for your safety and your families do not believe the big cable theory and not provide protection from electronic equipment burning. I adore your family and hope you are all safe and warm having fun. Camping in the cold is warmest when 2 are wrapped in a nice big fur and the kids are in the other tent.

We passed through there on Feb 10. Yes, the weather was bad from the 8th on. Before it was really nice actually. Guess I have an advantage: my teardrop has a furnace that I can run all night long because it sips gas and my solar battery setup gives me plenty of power to run it. We were toasty in the Mojave National Preserve (just 60 miles away from Vegas) when it hit 24 degrees and 35mph winds a few days ago. Still headed out of the area - who wants to camp in those conditions. PS: just install a propex or webasto heater depending on what fuel source you want to use. Much better than a heating blanket. PPS: the voltage on a Battleborn battery tells nothing about charge state. It's a managed battery - the only way to have the voltage tell you something is to disconnect any other load on the battery and then measure the voltage. The moment you connect a load the voltage won't tell you the charge state anymore.
