Today we are checking out an old Bruce Roberts sailboat that we found on Facebook Marketplace.

Looks like a good start to an artificial reef

@@radualin1 I believe she was probably was a good boat & that given the right circumstances she probably could be again. I don't really have much faith that those circumstances will happen for her, but a girl can hope. Thanks for checking out our video and taking the time to leave us a comment. It's greatly appreciated 🙏

Needs a TON of work, but the are solid boats for what it's worth
@HistoryRats11 күн бұрын
@@bellofello1 I definitely believe she has a lot of potential. However after spending the last 10 months bringing a 1970 C&C Redline back to life, she's a lot more of a project than we can commit to right now. Thank you for taking the time to watch our video and leave a comment. We appreciate it.

100 grand plus and it ll be worth 40 grand
@HistoryRats11 күн бұрын
@@Maddie-Girl that seems sadly accurate, but to the right person with the right amount of passion it might be worth it. We have a great deal of passion when it comes to saving old boats and, while we aren't the right people in this case, I hope maybe the right person will stumble across this video. By the way, thank you very much for watching and taking the time to leave us a comment.

turn around and walk away, theres too much to rectify and the prices will kill you

Hopefully they are paying you to take it!

@@AaronBrand I don't remember that option being put on the table 😆 besides, we didn't take it. Don't get me wrong, she has a lot of potential and I'm a sucker for saving old boats, but she's going to take every bit of a year of work (at the very least) and that's just not something that we can commit to right now.

@@HistoryRats You mean 10 years and a 100 grand minimum.
@HistoryRats11 күн бұрын
@@Jaml321 you might be right. She's got a large number of boat projects to be done and I firmly believe that boat projects are never really done. However, quite a bit of the materials that would be needed are already on the boat and it is possible to do the job with little to no financial investment. I'm not saying it would be easy or quick, but it can be done. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment.

Oh look a trash can. Run people run, dont take the bait.
@HistoryRats11 күн бұрын
@@Jaml321 I'm not sure what you mean. I'm not trying to bait anyone. My husband has a slight addiction to Facebook marketplace and I'm always game to check out a boat. However, I'm grateful that you had enough interest to click on our video and took the time to leave a comment. So, thank you.
@Jaml32111 күн бұрын
@@HistoryRats I meant being baited with the boat being free. There is no such thing as a free boat. You only get it for free if it would cost way more to fix it than it would cost to buy the same boat from a different seller in good condition. They are searching for an idiot to take it off their hands so they don't have to pay for the decommissioning of the vessel.
@HistoryRats10 күн бұрын
Thank you for explaining. I understand what you mean about a free boat. Generally speaking, you will not find a boat that you won't have to fix at some point.
@Jaml32110 күн бұрын
@@HistoryRats I dont think you can compare a refit to a complete reconstruction. This boat is beyond the point where it makes any sense to invest any further.
@HistoryRats9 күн бұрын
@@Jaml321 either way, I still appreciate you for taking the time to have a conversation about it.
