Agree with the other commenters, that your videos are super helpful for those of us considering camping in Michaux State Forest! I live in Philadelphia, PA--just a couple hours east of Michaux--and am planning to take a motorcycle camping trip there in the next few months. Not having any idea what the campsites are like makes it feel like a bit of a crapshoot, so being able to get a sense of what to expect from your videos is fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to drive around, film, edit, and share....and thanks to your co-pilot and Milo, for supporting your endeavor. Let her know we appreciate her, as well, please!

I live in Eastern Pa and I just visited this exact spot the other day. It was very well maintained. The gravel lot that you were showing is where people like myself come over and just unload atvs and go riding the trails for the day and go home. I did ride the trail from here to the site you showed in your first video of this series. It took me about an hour or so with a small break along the way. I plan on coming back and camping next time even though I only live two hours away. Nice job on the video it isn't rushed, the audio is a great, and you do a great job explaining. I like what your doing here and subscribed to your channel

Affordable camping in Pennsylvania is not abundant, but the Michaux State Forest sure has some great free camping. Enjoy! Lou

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I was hoping that someone would have a video to pass on some knowledge of primitive camping areas here in PA. This will one of my stops this fall/winter. Again thank you.

As of now, the sites are no longer free. We stayed at campsite #1 last July (2022) for free. Just reserved it again (March of 2023) and it was $21. Still a good deal, but no longer free.

We appreciate the update. We provided an update on free camping in Pennsylvania to our viewers in late 2022. Here is a link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZm9YmR-iJqHsM0

I’m confused. Why would there be many campfire areas if there is only one permit. When reserving is says limited to 2 vehicles. So would there at most be two families who were on the same permit (came together) having access to all these campfires and camping areas in each permit? Or am I misunderstanding? Looks to me like each campsite number like 2 is an area designed for multiple campers. Thank you for such great vide series!

Some of the motorized campsites in this state forest accommodate more than one permit. The sprawling camping area for big rigs shown in this video will accommodate lots of campers and permits are issued within capacity limits.
@carolm80032 жыл бұрын
@@LivingOurDreamNow thanks! That makes sense. Looking at the permit application I see that the area is divided up in lettered areas and you are given a permit for a specific area of the campsite.

It would be helpful if you could note in the comments what vehicles are accessible to which campsites. Some are parking lots, some are hike in.
@bigdogbigben3 жыл бұрын
Site 1 aka Big Flat and Site 2 aka Piney something are the only vehicle accessible, everything else is hike in

Looks like too many tent only sites. It's a huge forest why not clear enough trees for trailers? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Honestly, if your trying to go primitive camping. The areas thats are not cleared out are beautiful to walk back, also, why take more from nature then you'd have too.
