Congratulations on starting your van! Don't forget to mask off the edges so you don't scratch them up like I did. 😀 We did two ceiling fans but now I wished we would have just went with one. It's such a small space and one fan would have done the job and saved the roof space. We also should have went with a heater that can handle high altitudes. We find ourselves above the 5000 feet limit most of the time. Of course let us know if you have questions along the way. Good luck! 😀👍

If you make it down to the Cottonwood/Clarkdale area you can hike up the southern part of Sycamore canyon and see that beautiful trail with lots of water in the creek, which flows year round as there are several springs. It is a lush riparian canyon/trail.

Yes we are still currently in the cottonwood area and we’ve been keeping an eye on those fires 🔥 before vanlife we lived in a high fire area in California….. so we know how devastating wildfires can be! Thankfully we never lost our house but we were evacuated several times. We always joked (not funny) that California has a fifth season “Fire season” 🥲 It is not a good indication though to be having wildfires in April!! I fear it’s going to be another bad year! You will find free camping or boondocking nearby within a few miles in both directions. During Peak season Whitehorse Campground is beautiful and only two miles from Sycamore Canyon Waterfall. Sycamore Falls is at the start of Sycamore Canyon and is RUGGEDLY beautiful!! Please use caution if you visit this area as there are a lot of tripping hazards and steep drop offs!! We enjoyed boondocking in the nearby national forest but please keep in mind that Arizona mud is not to be messed with in this area! Not only will you get massively stuck!!! But you will run the risk if scarring the landscape that could result in the closure of this area.

Please keep your dog on a leash when visiting the national forests… it’s the law. We have been horse back riding in the same area and have had dangerous interactions with loose dogs. Loose dogs are dead dogs!
@oneadVANtureatatime2 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry you had to deal with dogs while riding your horse. While it is the law to have your dog on a leash in DEVELOPED areas and most trails…. It is NOT THE LAW to have you dog on leash in most other areas of the national forest ( not to be confused with national parks) this is straight from the USDA website: In many Wilderness Areas, devleoped campgrounds, picnic areas and day use areas, dogs are required to be on a leash. Most other areas within the National Forests do not require your dog to be on a leash, but they should be under your control at all times. We recommend that you keep your dog on a leash when you are around other forest users, other dogs, or are in bear country.
@tumblina78762 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry that you think it’s OK to risk other peoples lives by letting your dogs run loose in the forest. It’s there for all of us to use, not just you. Like I said…. A loose dog is a DEAD dog. To be clear to your viewers…. This is a high traffic area with free range cattle and horses…. If your loose dog chases wildlife, cattle or horses, it will be shot and killed…. PERIOD. The locals do not play around with idiots that think the forest is a free for all their loose dogs. We are also tired of looking for your lost dogs because you couldn’t keep them leashed.
