How is it that you don’t have a million subscribers?! Yours is the best vlog for actual camping, boondocking, and nature videography! Plus your lovely, authentic personalities. Oh, and it goes without saying, but I will anyway…. Roodle!

8:40: That's a 1953 Ford: either a "Mainline Business Coupe" or "Mainline Tudor Sedan" (yes, sedan, even though it's a 2-door). WIth all that water, how were the mosquitoes? Sometimes I wonder about watery locations and mosquitoes, they often go together. The waterfalls were amazing, and the amount of water was incredible. Very very nice, thanks!

That hole in the lava is probably a tree well that forms when molten lava flows around a large tree. The tree dies and eventually rots away leaving a hole. Some are deeper than others depending on how much lava is flowing. There is a great trail a few miles east of Sunriver called Lava Cast Forest Trail that I think you guys would love if you’re ever back in the area. It’s full of tree wells, and a beautiful hike. And if you haven’t already driven it, drive Hwy 242 between Sisters and Belknap Springs, stopping along the way to hike the trail to Proxy Falls. The drive is amazing. Lots of Boondocking along the way too.

That is exactly what I was going to say about the hole they thought might be a well! I live near the Lava Cast Forest area (La Pine) and there are places on the 'trail' that have signs explaining the deep holes.

Looks like Roodle’s gotten into some catnip…🙀…Reminds me of my Akita, Kiowa, that would get ever so frisky in cooler snowy weather. I’d imagine Roodle’s in hog heaven playing amongst the forestry moss covered ground versus the arid desert. 🐕

The McKenzie River is my favorite scenic river. The source of the river is Clear Lake, just up the road from where you camped. What's interesting is that the river disappears underground past Carmen Reservoir (Ice Cap that you mentioned) and re-emerges about 1 1/2 mile or so to the south at Tamolitch Blue Pool where the water temps stay at 35 degrees year round. The trail to Blue Pool is extremely popular and best done early in the day mid-week. We prefer hiking it from the south, along the rushing river. I believe the "river" you encountered during your hike was run off that was above the river flowing below the ground and through lava tubes at that spot. Beautiful and informative video, as always! Thanks for sharing!

Hi, thank you fot this great video. Would love to visit this place. You mentioned there is no cell signal. I have a question about that. We will go on holiday to the States tomorrow and I wonder from which company we should get a sim-card to have the best chance of having reception throughout the south-west, where we plan to go. Is it Verizon, is it AT&T, is it another one? Can you tell something about that? We only need a card with data on it for our wifi-router. Thanks in advance.
