I wondered if someone would pick wheel bearings as being in the list! They’re good, but the drums arent, and the wheel bearings are pressed into the drums. I could reuse them in new drums but it’s not the best practice.

I can’t express how happy I am that you’re hiring your friends and family to uplift them rather than just spending it all on yourself. Hiring James to just muck around with you with cars a couple days a week is fantastic. I love watching you diversify your output and keep your personal interest high. Also this channel has unironically displaced my watching of people like Junkyard Digs, your editing and personality is much better for much the same type of work.

I honestly found Junkyard Digs while trying to find more content similar to Garbage Time! But, Dank and James just make the most off the wall car content you can't find anywhere else. It's a fine line till you realize that cars are actually pretty simple (at least cars B4 2000) and just taking them apart and keeping parts somewhat organized, it's pretty easy to put back together. Just jump in and start wrenching shit haha

I am 44, I live in America, in Southern California and I am a major gearhead and I'm absolutely entertained by this little craptastic car build. Edit: Rock Auto (an online parts store) here in the states claims to have the complete gasket set for a Daihatsu I used a 1988 I'm pretty sure they are all the same but I'm no Daihatsu expert not exactly a common car here. I just looked again and they have just the head set for 22 bucks USA. It's definitely worth looking there is actually quite a bit still available... Whats crazy is those cars were rare when I was a kid and they were new but they still have a fair selection of parts.

I had to stop watching HubNuts daihatsu repairs, just too frustrating. An engine swap on that could have be done in a morning by a semi-competent DIYer, perhaps a day with multiple food/drink breaks and taking it slow.

I think it could potentially be a cool cooperation between two worlds. The car world and the art world. I think it could be a cool "BMW Art Car" styled build, to continue its "whiteboard" legacy. Maybe you could call out to some aussie artists on KZbin and get some of them to paint the right side and leave the left side white. Or maybe you could just put clear coat on it to seal the current paint. Its uniqueness is awesome

Can’t really state just how amazing it is that making entertaining vids about the obscure hobby of rebuilding and modding what most consider obsolete technology (iPods) has led to enhancing and documenting your other passions. They're great cars, my mom used to have a 2008 daihatsu sirion 2 1.3l and that thing only broke down 3 times cuz the battery died and a couple of months ago the original alternator died. Had like 28000 km on it. We got rid of it a couple of weeks back cuz of bad steering rack and bad clutch

This series is what gave me the courage to pull the ass off my old SAAB to fix the dinged-up hitch. The hitch is still on the car, in several more pieces than when I started work on it, and the rear-end lies in an abandoned corner of a fire station mind you, but I wouldn't even have dared to try to fix it a year or so ago.

hey dank, get an ozone generator and chuck it in jeff. it just might, maybe, fix the smell problems. maybe cleaning out the vents/cabin filter might help too you can also run the air and have it in circulate with the ozone generator. real good at eating up smells (ozone stinks for a little bit, but fades quickly)

Weird seeing this in my recommended video. Actually had this model G11 Charade back in 2000-2005 during my Uni days. Mine came with the weird Daimatic 2 speed auto. Was planning for an engine swap with a G11 Detomaso Turbo but then life happened. Loved it, went on a few road trips in it. Tons of memories in that car. Looking forward to seeing more of this. 4:30 Here is the trick to loosen any wheel effortlessly, risk free and with no violence: Just loosen the nuts just one turn, then drive slowly and serpentine a bit. If they don't come lose right away, they have probably been welded on.

Oh my god this brings back memories. I had one of these, little 3 cyl 1 litre went hard, blew a head gasket, chemwelded it and it went hard for another few months, ended up getting a 1.6 DOHC replacement, fiddled with it a bit. Was a pretty quick little nugget with that donk. Last I heard the kid I sold it to bolted a turbo on, must be a proper little sleeper now.

Honestly, these videos diving into cars help me to know what is good or bad when I look into my car. I know little to nul about cars, and haven't really been interested in learning, but I could watch your vids on cars all day.

This just popped into my feed, never seen this channel before, but I instantly recognized the car. The car I got my license in was a Daihatsu Charade. Don't remember the exact model, but closely resembled a CXi. It's such a beautiful little thing. If they made this and the only difference was that it was an electric vehicle, I'd be all over that. Excited to see how yours turns out
