Recently we bought a house and the gentleman we bought it from is active duty AF. He asked us if he could stay an extra 2 months and that he'd pay us rent for that time. when we got the check, we thanked him for his service and mailed him the check back.

@@itshisturf23 We all have a purpose. What we chose to do with it once we discover what it is, that is the choice. My purpose was to help people. That's why I became a Paramedic. And I did my job with Distinction for 37 years, even going to Ground Zero on September 12th, 2001. Granted, I was there not as a Paramedic, but as a dog handler with 4 dogs that were trained in both Cadaver and Live Search and Rescue. Even as a Paramedic, when the Pandemic first hit, I immediately thought about 3 elderly couples that live in the same complex that I do, and how could I help them. So I saw, over on Instagram, a system someone else was using, and it was a perfect fit for these 3 couples. I went to our closest Walmart and got 9 pieces of cardboard craft paper and they were in 3 colors. One was GREEN, one was YELLOW and the other was RED. I put 1 of each color in a reusable bag, hung it on the door. Inside with those cardboard pieces, there was also a small piece of paper with my full name, and my private work number and private cell number. I then knocked on the door and backed up. I explained what each piece of cardboard was dressed in uniform, as I had just come off of shift. All 6 are doing well and are healthy for their ages which is between 75 to 90 years young. They still live at home, with an aide that comes in and helps keep the place tidy by doing the vacuuming and laundry. We all have a purpose. What we do with it, when we find out what it is, can only go one of 2 ways. Take some time to help some one else, or ignore humanity and just become greedy. From a Retired Paramedic in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
