I was quite surprised at the ....depth... of this movie. It had so many facets and succeeded on all of them. Thanks for posting this reaction. The next best thing to seeing this in a theater and discussing with friends (something I haven't done since before the pandemic), is seeing other people - even strangers online - watch it and getting their takes on what they just experienced.. I feel badly that Free Guy had the unfortunate timing of being ready for release just as the world hunkered down for COVID, but streaming had given it a ....second life... to let others experience this surprisingly rich piece of storytelling.

I don't think I have ever heard of this movie, my friend, but thank you for reacting to it, because it was really quite enjoyable and funny. It also made me wonder just how often Ryan Reynolds improvises his lines, because it seemed like half of the time, he was just spontaneously making up his dialogue for each scene with his own unique humor. He has a great talent for simultaneously blending sincerity, humor, and quick wit in his acting. I can't imagine how anyone could write a script that would match his ability for improvisation. And your analysis of the movie was spot-on. I agree that it was an interesting juxtaposition of the practical realities of the physical world we live in and how it may compare to whatever awareness that an AI character might possess in the digital world. So, thank you, Lezy. As you said, this was a fun movie! 👍😊❤

I did see this movie a few months ago, and found it initially confusing but reasonable overall, if a bit long. I am uneasy about the treatment of software creations as living beings. In the film, Guy and others are very appealing, which works well in the story but indicates the real-life danger of confusing true persons with mere things.
