Yes, I agree. Most casting calls are for over 18 because a lot of restrictions come with casting minors. My best advise would be to get an agent. Let me do some research on this and I'll post a video soon! 😊👍

Hi Trenice, there are so many ways you can act. Have you though about making your own work? Training is very important. If you can't go to a class, try researching different acting techniques and act with friend. In the future, when you can, get into a class or hire an acting coach to help you get even better.

Hi there! Yes, it is a bit harder for people under 18 but still doable. If you are under 18, you will need your parent or guardian's permission, a work permit for each state you work in, schedule time for school, and only submit to work that is explicitly for minors. Hope this helps!

For now, I would highly suggest to work with local filmmakers and get your resume and reel together. NY of course is a great place but if you can, start making connections over there and when you can finally move, you will be able to get more work because you already know some people. Most causing websites ask you for photos and measurements of your body. If you're not comfortable with it, you shouldn't do it. But it is very normal. What is not normal is for nude photo or payment to audition. A subscription fee is normal. Paying more than $30/month is not.

Hey! I recommend getting a soft measuring tape. You can probably get it at the dollar store or amazon. If you don't have a car, that is fine. Make sure you are reading everything as it will let you know what is a must and what is optional like having a car usually is.

Hello 😊 you would have to see what each casting call says to get the answer. Most do not pay for travel which is my they hire local people. If you are under age you will also need a work permit for the state you work in plus any other visa/immigration documents needed to travel and work in that country. I highly suggest getting started locally and once you have a local agent that can help you out, you can book jobs in other countries.

Hi Abbey! If you don't have any experience I would suggest looking for film or theatre schools near you to see if they are offering any open call auditions. Also any training you can do at home would be great. 😊👍

I only have experience as an actor in California but whener I do find any info for international castings, I will be sure to make more videos on it, meanwhile keep on doing research to see if anyone else has more info. I do not know of any casting agencies/websites that have open calls/self submissions from other countries.

You would have to see what the laws are for CA and international employees. If you are under 18, you are very likely going to have to get a minor workers permit on top of travel documentation.

Hi there! You shouldn't get a casting website for the US unless you are here in the US. Most casting websites hire local people only. Anyone can make it in Hollywood but you would have to figure out your path. All are different. What I suggest is training, experience, and to of course live in LA.

Hi there! I don't have any personal experience, but from what I have heard, you would need to move to the US or make a name for yourself in your country first and then have your agent or manager help introduce you to the US market.

Hi Abby, it depends on where in IL. If you already know there is work in the area, then I would suggest Backstage but I don't have any experience specifically there.I post open calls as much as I can. Also, if you know of any film schools or theaters you can always have your parents call and ask if they are looking for young actors. The first step is to learn how to act so when you get a meeting with an agent they can see you are trained and talented.

Hi Lindsay, all reputable agencies are trusted by Disney. It is more about asking the agency you audition for if they have the ability to send you out for Disney castings. As far as how to find an agent, you would need you so some research on the agents in the nearest large town or submit to agencies in LA that are open to representing people from out of town. Before you can submit to agencies like that, make sure you have a resume, headshot and reel so they can take you seriously. Since you are in plays, ask your directors and fellow actors if they are represented by anyone or know who would be a good person to talk to regarding being represented. That's a great place to start!

It takes time. My biggest advice is to get training and so a lot of research on what is being made around you.

Is everything in backstage legit? Cuz I found a role that I really want to audition for, but I can't afford to pay for backstage, so I dmed the writer on Instagram, and he told me to send in my headshot, resume, demo reel etc to him and then he would send me the script to audition. Idk if I should do it, because I'm afraid it's a scam, but it's paid and everything, and the producer has posted a whole bunch of things about the project on his Instagram, so does it seem legit? The auditions are worldwide, and everything including transport and food is paid for. I researched the company making it, and they've existed for a while, but they haven't actually made anything for a while or just at all as far as I know, so there isn't much on them. Idk I'm just confused.

Hey! Not all auditions are a great idea so I suggest heavily researching online to see what the casting call is for. Sometimes it is an open call for a film or tv. You want to make sure you are right for the role but most importantly, that it is a real audition. I don't recommend auditioning for stuff in the US so far unless you have the means to come to US or if it is a remote recording job. This of course is my opinion from an actor. I am not a casting director, acting coach or manager. I recommend creating your own work where you are now, making a name for yourself and then applying for representation.
