Very good and helping tool. Thanks for doing it in mel not too much tools that can be used inMaya LT on this days. but I´ve tested it in Maya LT 2019.2 and Maya LT 2024.4 and it doesn´t work . Single Mode and explode doesn´t work I would be great if you could fix it :-). Thanks for the tool.

Hi Oscar, I think Maya LT is missing some of the constraints and deformers functionality, I may have to release a version just for Maya LT, but still you should be able use "Single Mode" with any other cutting plane or geo Cheers!

I grabbed my own cat model (resolution similar to that in the tutorial), but the "cut" operation consistently resulted in the entire cat disappearing.

@@plfxtd Yes: // Error: line 150: Cannot perform boolean operation Also, in other scene in which I did manage to cut up an object via the script (a Greek column), I wanted to create a dynamic sim of it being wrecked by a flying sphere. Maya crashed each time. Yay!

@@keithyakouboff8755 try to disable the legacy mode and also make sure your geo is watertight and clean. Boolean operation in maya doesn't like messy geo

@@plfxtd You know, you may have been on to something. I just exported the cat model (.obj), and it came back into Maya broken up. It was intact just to look at, but when I selected it, it was no longer one solid model. I went to merge vertices, and then got some holes in some parts, and the thing was still not one, solid model. I will find a better model and resume my tutorializing. Thank you.

I can't seem to get it to work in 2022.2, if I start a new scene, create a box and then click on CUT I get these error: // Error: file: C:/Users/****/Documents/maya/2022/scripts/pl_chipOff.mel line 364: No object matches name: pCube1_pl_chipOff Any chance you could advise on how to get it working?

How to run Mel script files: 1. Once the file is ready, open Maya and go to “Window > General Editors > Script Editor” 2. In the Script Editor window, go to “File > Source Script". 3. Browse for the script you want to load and open it. 4. In the MEL section at the bottom of the main Maya window, type in the script's name without the extension and enter.

@@JagsP95 Make sure you have all those scripts in side Documents/Maya/2022/Scripts folder. Then use either script editor or command line down below of Maya. All the examples he is giving in the video are working.
