I haven't compared them, seems like the BX is based of the dangerous hardware and has completely different frequencies (though i don't know if thats just by label as its such a wide curve a centre frequency doesn't mean a lot). I have seen other plugins with the same hardware basis. This plugin does also have a mid band. I think for subtle wide boosts that the AO sounds great and these style of EQ is meant to be subtle, though I am not sure it is every fair to compare a free plugin to a 250 dollar plugin for which I'd have really high expectations in both sound and use/stability, personally I can't imagine it being better enough to be worth that cost unlike more character plugins would be (neve eqs, la2a etc).

@@marceloribeirosimoes8959 The closest free plugin to the BX one is the variety of sound (exactly same controls and look). Might be worth comparing them (I think the BX demos on PA are fully functional). Only plugins I have seen like that just add features and support (important in day to day studio use) where the free versions are more geared towards hobbyists (most compatibility is a mac osx thing not windows which is why many free plugins are windows only because of the cost of development).
