My question is, how do you get the females to the males when they are on heat, given that these are heavy animals and picking them form one location to another might not be easy ?

Free range, but why don't you give them fresh pasture..

How many pigs can be kept on a two acre piece of land? I want to take a leaf from your video.
@aubreyallenbutchers5 жыл бұрын
It depends where the land is and therefore the conditions of the ground. For example Blythburgh Pork who raise their free range pigs on sandy soil in Suffolk house 80 pigs per acre. However that is not recommendation for rearing free range pigs and is unique to Blythburgh.

Do they have shelter ,

Yes they have access to shelter and choose when they are inside or outside.

Older pigs are more tender? That's another reason why it's bad to slaughter pigs too young. It's already bad enough to take their lives away from them when they haven't even lived that long yet. At their older slaughter time, I just hope the pigs are stunned by electric bolt (not by painful gassing!!) and don't suffer AT ALL.
