That's a perfectly suitable way to create a rotary disc so long as you have the scissors and tools to do so. Because the diameter of a rotary disc is smaller, using a tougher fiber matrix of an angle grinder's disc, is going to yield a much more resistant bit. What a great way to reuse old discs. It's called mattle cutting disk, it can be bought at amy machine tools shop easily.

Please for the love of God or whatever deity you have. Do NOT Do This... these cutting disks are engineered to be singular units. Those "strings" you see through them are meant to be the size and shape they are. If the diaks are compromised they will be more likely to shatter more. Spinning a previously shattered disk at a 1000 rpm is going to send those fragments into your face at 100s of FPS. These mini disks are very cheap just get a new one. Medical bills are expensive.

Don't do this please. Rotary tool cuttin wheels are designed differently than angle grinder cutting wheels therefore this will explode at any givin moment Just save your eyes and your time and buy an actual cutting wheel for no more than ten bucks

I do this with sandpaper...glue em on cardboard and voilà I wouldn't dare risk it with cutting wheels, there's a fine line between bravery and stupidity
