This was the first scooter I have ever owned, I bought it for $100 with current registration, I ripped off the stock carb and associated valves, sold them on ebay for $150 then put a GY6 carb off amazon on it, unhooked the throttle cable under the floor board, and it was my daily transportation for quite a while, never let me down, other than cheap vacuum cabs falling apart haha

So, put mine on the lift, pulled the carb and noticed, on inspection, that the main and pilot jets were plugged. I did a quick clean and put it back on the bike. IT FIRED RIGHT UP! I feel like an idiot for waiting so long to start this project. What a fun scoot! Just the right size for a “biggun” like me and plenty of power. Can’t wait to see your custom touches!

This was a really enjoyable watch... Please consider fixing up other scooters! maybe the LC Minarelli variety? US examples: Malaguti F12, F15 Firefox, Aprilia Sr50 1997-2001 Old gen with rear drum 1992-1996, Kymco Super 9 2000-2006 Ish, (These have an interesting issue with the tach's microcontroller that I cannot figure out). These come in AC and LC, (LC has a peekhole for the coolant tank and rear disk, plus a Tach and Temp light

If you need info on the 180 Riva engine we have a forum going on over at adventure rider (link below). Its really good if you need a new drive belt or want to put aftermarket roller/sliders in it (both of which are obsolete).......Also did a carb swap which is nice because it gets rid of all of those vacuum lines.

@unfairlight technically real instruments outside of the drum machine. The keys are midi or microkorg and the guitar and bass are real instruments. Yeah man it definitely changes the vibe at 1.75 that's a cool call out thanks!

@Garret Seesing i have a TaoTao Pony 50cc. i turn the key, no lights and electric start does not work, no work,no turn signals BUT i can kick start the bike and the bike turns on but STILL no lights or signals, what could be wrong???

Hey bud I got a question you seem to know a good bit about these vintage scooters I got a 1983 riva 180 The carburetor is cracked it’s junk I think I found a workaround so gy6 150cc With a manual choke and jet sized up 1 or 2 sizes My question is will this work thank you in advance

I bet that will work just great. I'm sure it will start and run. I would just take it for a 10-15 mile drive before swapping the jets and take a look at the plug to see which way you need to go!

Hey I have a 2 stroke scooter, just wondering why the thing won't start, the things getting fuel and spark, the scooter just randomly stopped working while I was riding it. I think it's something to do with timing . Can u tell me how to get it started cause I need it for my farm since I have to walk very far to feed my animals.

It's no Taotao though! 🤔 The 80's were a great time for motorcycles. Will probably never see the like again. Massive amounts of R&D. All the big four trying to out do each other. Just look at yamaha, making singles, twins, tripples, and four cylinders. Plus two, and four strokes.

I have a 157qmj trike, everything that it has is stock from company. I notice that the stock air filter has a Xtra nipple that a hoes goes into. Now I recently replace the air filter with a new one. But the new air filter don't come with that Xtra nipple that the stock air filter came with. What should I do with that Xtra hoes once I put in the new air filter that don't have a entry for that hoes. I put my finger on the tip of that hoes and it blows out air. Can I ride it like that with the lose not connected to the new air filter since it don't have a entrance for it?
