As a free player new to the game, showing all these missions rewards has been INVALUABLE in helping me gear up a ship. Thank you so much for doing this and I'd love to see more like this. Anything "Mission reward and crafted" is right up my ally in the game (two weeks in now)

Morning Stu, Just a couple of notes; 1. Quantum Phase Converter for the Temporally Shielded Datacore. That 2-piece will help with shielded targets when your Quantum Phase Torp smacks them. 2. Focused Assault is a nice budget Tac ability. Get that from "Butterfly" as well. Other than those two alternate suggestions, you managed to put together a pretty awesome budget build there.

Been really wanting to make a torp build but have no desire to make it with lobi or lockbox weapons since it'd just be for fun so this is perfect!

I know it's silly, but I still have a soft spot for the Hargh'peng torpedo. And I've always stayed away from torp builds. But this video has me wanting to try one. Thanks!

I've never tried a torp build before- I've been strictly energy weapons since the beginning- but this makes me want to try working on a torp build! One question: You mentioned linking a video for a more advanced build in the description, but I'm not seeing it. Am I missing something? Love these build vids- keep 'em coming!

Making a start build is easy, acceptable to do a performant one, but for a top one you'll be in the 2.5B range, meaning main ship, traits ships and the other needed stuff.

Excellent vid! I don't like mines lol! Will try to figure out aft omnis & turrets instead. I'm building up the Gagarin. So, I decided to craft 2 Particle Emission Torps, using identical Doffs (K13-David Earl Harrison) & +50 Catalysts, 1 Very Rare, 1 Ultra Rare was the result. Then I crafted one with the uncommon K-13 DOFF Saatot, result was Ultra Rare. DOFFS & Catalysts don't really matter in determining what gets crafted :(

So, question from a Pakled - er... for a friend... But this might be important: *HOW* should I fly this kind of boat? Should I just charge in like a deranged Hydran (shout out to "Star Fleet Battles" veterans)? Should I drop out of cloak, launch torpedoes, and recloak as quick as possible like a Rommie Sniper? Or should I be circling like a regular Federation boat, banking on my initial fusillade to get their attention and my mine field to punish them coming after me? Love your work, and would also be *really* interested to see you do a few tactical overviews on A) How to fly different boat styles, and even, if you are interested, B) Ground Battle tactics. Cheerio!

This is forward firing so no circling. If you have a cloak use it when you enter combat but I would not recloak. I would call it a slow and steady push.

my torpedo build - replace all beam weapons with torps, doesn't matter which, put aux to max power and do a science build. I'm simple like that.

Why do you need PTR on a Torp ship? I'd replace that console with something more useful for a T-build. If you want to go with a little sci boost, add the gravimetric from the rep, it's got that GW 1/3 spawn change and very good RoF. As for the skills part, Command does some good T-boosting. Also, you may want to drop some of the MLs in favor of a back set torp like Terran (along with Ferrofluid Hydraulic Assembly console), that when used in a set is helpful overall as it will boost T-damage. That said, it would be interesting to see the Winter part. Lately, I just harvest mats by DOffing and doing the ice run for the event itself, but nothing else. Got bored at a point. Could use some winter refresh info.

Thank you for the suggestions. This build is only mission rewards and crafted gear. You are 100% correct, there is very good rep gear for torps... My best run with torps is 1.4M DPS in a supported ISE run and majority of the gear on it is rep gear.

@@MCStu I did not know you did not consider rep. It's free, after all and became extremely easy to progress through. Btw, there's also the 2-set from Omega that gives Tactical Readiness (+25 Torp), which is a good boost. Anyway, keep up the good work. Wish I had some time to do some videos of my most weird builds like the Mine Layer Tank.

Could you share what makes a particular ships a "good platform for a torpedo build"? Like, can I try this on a Jem'Hadar Escort or a Tamarian event ship with decent results?

Best ships for torps have a command spec boff seating, preferably with a commander command seat. You need to be able to run concentrated firepower 3 and high yield 3. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmbXl35oe7BgepI

Thx for the build but something is bugging me , I noticed your crit chance is 31.6% and I didnt see anything special that adds so much crit chance. On my toon I barely hit 25% and I got everything I could except lobi or a gazilion dollars consoles , so my question is : Do you get such an insane crit chance and severity just from your endeavors? My endeavors level is only 25 since I hate it tbh and don't really care to log in everyday just to complete some crap missions on a timer. I'm asking because I have actually tried a lot of builds from other people and I never get the same damage , not even close and the only thing that I can think about being different is the endeavors. Not hating or anything but I just think that if this adds so much to your damage maybe you should say it since a lot of newbies will try to make the same build and be dissapointed that they barely have 10% crit chance. Keep up the good work and sorry for the novel I wrote just now.

Hard to believe you are breaking 80K with those garbage consoles. Pretty sure there are better free consoles than those.

@@MCStu The +crit consoles from opening Discovery Rep Boxes are better than most of your consoles on a torp build. I wouldn't pay Dil for them, but you can keep contributing marks and getting more boxes until you have the best possible Discovery Rep consoles.

Have you ever tried to Google how to get spatial fissures sto? It's not recommended. You definitely end up finding unpredictable results. It's way worse if you have an image search on don't do that.
