For a F2P energy build for engineering console slots I tend to run 2 of the disco rep damage resist consoles - one physical, one energy, each with the crit chance. Then universals for the remainder & science slots - e.g. Assimilated module, zero point etc. With disruptor house Martok ENG console & omni beam for sure. For my disruptor F2P did disco disruptor DDB + lorcator and dyson rep torp & console for the crit chance 2 set. Exchange traits of pilfered power (20% firing haste) and onboard dil recrystal with the T1 oberth console. Thanks for the content, I'm looking forward to when the temporal recruit event comes round, hopefully soon rather than SoonTM :-).

this is a wonderful build as i am currently building a brand new char that i am running fully 100 percent FTP rules i set (as i have access to some good ships and gear) is only allowed to access ships granted at levels 10 20 30 40 at 50 i am allowing myself to use a "free t5 ship" coupon i have and allowing myself a choice of my unlocked t6 c store ships at 60 for "making it there" .... only crafted mission dropped fleet and rep gear will be allowed to be used on this toon.... not allowed to cheat and use an alt to create crafted gear for the character. its been a long time i have played and decided to give myself a challenge run playthrough.

I've been watching your videos for awhile now and, with your help, I finally have my Beam Overload Klothos at a point I'm extremely happy with. And I still use the Martok (console/beam), Reinforced, Disentanglement, and Trellium-D consoles. I'm using a Discovery +1.2 crit chance shield boost in a Science slot because I really don't know what else to put there. I don't know if that ability to make you fly out of the area is affected by Engineering Team. But I'll try it and see.

i adapted the build to the free matha raptor that was given away a few weeks ago, because it has this console that gives this insane disruptor aoe attack. its like a cannon scatter volley on steroids.

I got a ship build idea. (Not optimal just a "lets see") Everything that focuses on pets dps. That will give them buffs / Indirect buffs. Going to star a new character probability cardassian he is going to be my carrier pet dps guy only. Soo i got alot of farming ahead of me ☹ Got to wait for enough zen to get cardassian. was pleasantly surprised that it was this mission that gives the nausican disruptor set. it was just the wholesome kind of space exploration mission that id wish was more of in the game. i get that its an mmo and as such it has to be about constant conflict and the next bigger enemy that the factions can rally against, but this felt like the most star trek like mission ive done in this game.

Great video about great gear. I use the three Disruptor sets you cover, on a budget Tank build. For Tanks, the Resonant 3-piece is almost as good as having a DOMINO console and the +15% Bonus/Cat-2 damage boost is invaluable for budget builds. I would actually slot the Resonant torp in front to take advantage of the Threat created by torp speads and the 1-in-3 chance for the AoE proc. All in all, the sets you describe form a really solid foundation for Budget to Mid-range Disruptor builds. Oh and "Hi."

Hey there thank you for these videos its really helped a lot. I'm saving up to get a Excelsior Advanced Heavy Cruiser Retrofit in the future, because I love the classic look and always wanted one,I was wondering what your opinions on this ship is? The next ship I am after as I am still playing through the story missions is the defiant tactical escort retrofit. Are the retrofits worth it? or am I better off staying with my standard Prometheus class?

Had to laugh, looked at this video cause I wanted to pick up some disruptor stuff for an endeavor, glad to hear my attempt to teach you the name of that mission wasn't wholly lost. 8P Pull up the movie Wing Commander and go to 13 minutes in, and they pronounce both, talking about Scylla (cill uh) and Charybdis (Kuh rib dis). Both of these were legendary monsters from the Odyssey. They were immortal and irresistable monsters, that were near a very narrow stretch of water, luring sailors to their doom. Usually attempting to avoid one of them cause people to end up in the others clutches. It coined a phrase that as it was, has probably mostly died out "To be between Scylla and Charybdis." or you may have heard it as "Between a rock and a hard place" That's why the name of that mission is the way it is. Tzenkethi Captain Parr was aptly between both, having to choose between the duty of stopping the Hur'q or causing mass slaughters.

I know there is really no right or wrong weapons configuration for your ship, as long as you're happy with what it does. But I'm curious. Why no torp on the back? I fly a lot of Escorts and Raiders and I find that a high yield, rear torp is often the coup de gras

You will bet more overall damage out put from a beam or turret weapon as it will fire much more often.

To expound a bit, on a Forward-facing build, if you are doing it right, the torp would literally never be pointed at the target. On a broadside build, most torps just don't have the firing angle. They will fire more often than a FwF build, but not as often as even a regular beam array. That said, build what's fun for you. I am a very mobile captain, which is actually detrimental to DPS scoring. On the other hand, any aft torp i mount will fire a fair bit more often. That enforces the game fiction for me; a very satisfying endorphin bump.

Update: Engineering Team _does_ stop that aggravating ability that pushes you away at full impulse. Of course by the time I get it clicked I'm still very far away.

If you're not chasing the top DPS spot there are a lot of effective free easy builds. Disruptors and Polaron are the easiest to build for since you can just grab a bunch of mission rewards for effective builds. Antiproton and Phasers are second easiest as you'll need to fill out with reputation gear. Building an effective tetryon build is the most difficult. Not many mission rewards, there's not much rep gear, you're probably going to want lock box weapons and there aren't many of them so you'll probably need the lobi store tetryon weapons to be effective.

Plasma is weird. It's DoT so the more effective your build the less effective plasma's DoT ability is. I have a plasma beam build and it took a lot of resources to get past just okay.

Yes, you would get more damage, but will have to pilot a little different.

@@jimmace8396 if you have the build in this video, you can essentially use the same stuff you were just going to change to disruptor cannons and you’re going to change your main firing mode to cannon scatter Valley three, is what I would recommend. But the base of this build is all around disruptor damage and whether or not you’re using beams or cannons doesn’t matter, so just switch out the weapons and the main firing mode from this build.

As I have mentioned in other videos of yours, I have recently returned to the game this month after a 5 year hiatus. I decided to finish the story arcs and playing my "main" toon who was a level 60 engineer captain on the Fed side. I have watched several of your videos in the beginners playlist, and I have synergized my T5U Excelsior Refit with phaser arrays and a torp in the front and back, because its thematic to the Feds. Now I am looking at my level 50 Orion tactical captain, who I also played half a decade ago, and trying to finish out her story arc missions. She is in a Neg'var, which thematically has disruptor cannons as its main weaponry type. From watching your videos, it appears you favor arrays not only for phaser beams, but also disruptors, as is apparent in this particular video. My question then is what are your thoughts on Disruptor cannons or even Disruptor turrets vs Disruptor arrays? Thanks for your time and all these great videos.

Im running a intel I9 9900K with a 1660 OC GPU with 32gb of Memory. CPU is not as important as the GPU. My 1660 is a good entry level GPU but not the best and I run the game at the highest settings. My son runs the game at max with a I7 2600 and a AMD R6 2GB GPU.

yep. You donate resources to the fleet and get fleet credits to buy fleet gear from various fleet holdings. You can do very solid builds with nothing but fleet gear.

Fleet is great for the gear, vulnerability locators, deflectors with hull boost, so on. Running, synergizing with others also a plus.

I might add, try to join the fleet that is not completely maxed on they're holding upgrades. Getting Fleet credits by donating to the smaller projects is a long haul. Also look for a fleet that acknowledges that you exist. Most fleets promote within according to Fleet contributions. If they don't acknowledge that you exist, you're probably not going to get promoted and that means you're not going to be able to buy things in the holding stores

where does the Resonanz set come from? it is pretty worthless talking to a F2P the many things it does if you dont say where you can get it . Sometimes you say it sometimes you dont. i suggest script your videos a bit especially the f2p /rookie Videos because you assume a bit too muc they know where can get the stuff from the 4000027 million sets that are spread out.
