When the Defenders team got their uniforms making them meta for pvp a few years ago, that was peak mff for me, I was never into playing pvp cause loosing all the time isn't fun and I didn't have the expensive characters, but then the defenders got uniforms with amazing buffs and suddenly I was able to punch Sentry into submission so I went all maxing up my Luke Cage I wasn't even fun of him now I am.

Transcendence characters are practically how the devs were doing T2s back in the day. Collectively giving them out every new patch, without uniforms, and without a care on whether they are usable or not. It's why most T2 passives are changed when a character gets a brand new uniform, coz half of them sucks.

As for the Defenders, these characters have had their share of time being part of the team in the comics: Black Knight, Clea, Hellcat, Moondragon, Namorita, Nighthawk, Tigra, US Agent, Valkyrie and Wonder Man. Peharps they choose to keep the Defenders as a street level kind of team but nothing stops them from adding new uniforms for existing Defenders plus T3 Tigra and give Nighthawk and Hellcat the Defenders tag.

Unlike the "Ultimate" selector where I dragged my feet before eventually choosing Hawkeye for the sake of the "Team-Up Collection", I already had a clear idea of who to pick once the "Transcended" selector finally revealed who it could apply to. Ignoring the characters I already have at that level ruled out a good chunk of the list. Especially the ones held in higher regard. And having NONE of the seasonal uniforms meant I had no reason to advance anyone who relied on them. I also ignored Medusa and Red Skull for personal reasons. (If Medusa gets a new uniform, then I might consider her for a future selector. But not before.) Of the remaining options, Bullseye in particular stuck out to me since using the Black Friday discount on his uniform addressed multiple concerns at once. It unlocked another bonus stat for Jane Foster in her "Love and Thunder" uniform, which is part of a team that I tend to use a LOT. The "Dark Avengers" uniform lets Bullseye team up with Sentry for a side challenge in "Dispatch Mission". And since I already spent gold on the "1872" uniform, getting both to mythic rank would leave no reason to keep Bullseye bios in my inventory. Thus freeing up another slot.

As much as you love the Defenders, the closest character to get a Tier-4 is definitely Daredevil. And possibly Punisher and Kingpin. I would count in Bullseye as well since he would be in the show. So, sorry to break this to you. However, as for the other Defenders, I have a feeling that Misty Knight and White Tiger would get a Transcend Potential at best during Daredevil: Born Again update. (Although I kinda wish they included Collen Wing too). Luke and Iron Fist: I'd want to see their Timeless comics look. So, there's your Tier-4 if that happens. (Not sure if IF would be in Eyes of Wakanda) Jessica: hard to say since she doesn't have that much of different looks.

PvP is essentially the late game. Once you’ve got your 5 WBL clears and have the AB’s at least somewhat covered PvP is where it’s at. Shadowlands aside the only game mode that routinely uses C-tier characters is AC, so good PvP characters have a really long shelf life, even longer than supports.
