I've always wanted to play VR chat. Looks hella fun, I've been following it for 4-5 years now. I had fun in desktop mode one time, and even bought a quest 2 (despite hating how facebooks been handling it) specifically for VR chat pc mode. I earned rank after a few hours in, and bought an avatar of a character I'm fond of. I spent a few hours just sitting alone with my new avatar, and I haven't played since. I want to, pretty much everyday, but I can't seem to get myself to go in. I live a pretty shut in life, I share an apartment with my father and have no friends outside of work, and have maybe three I'd consider work friends and only one I share a few interests with. I can't seem to get myself to play while my father is home, not entirely sure why, but I think it has something to do with not wanting to disturb him or something? And even when I'm home alone, I can't pull myself to hop in probably due to social anxiety and what I'd have to guess is some form of burn out, but that's a long depressing story. I wish I could just hop in and make a few friends, but when I'm holed up in my head its a lot more complicated than just do or do not
@jakeaurod2 жыл бұрын
You could try it in desktop mode for a while, for less of a mental committment, and see if that helps. I've been on desktop for 2 months and was thinking about getting a quest 2. I made several good friends... although recent drama and mental illness makes me fear that I've lost all of them.
@swampcooler83322 жыл бұрын
@@jakeaurod I was able to play in desktop mode and had a lot of fun one time almost 2 years ago, but the thing that was missing was the VR part. It kind of made me feel like an outsider with a lot of people in VR. I didn't get that playing in the steam VR quest version, and was 100% a better more fun experience for me and no more of a commitment, and I'd take going in on VR over desktop mode any day. The problem is with me. As for you, I'd say it would most likely be worth it, but everything considered it would be up to your personal preference and financial situation so I won't try and say you'll not regret it later down the line. I'd say chug a hard seltzer or lemonade if your old enough to drink or a coffee if not, (I find the ever so slight impairment from a small amount of alcohol or caffeine usually makes me more sociable or extroverted and open) and chase down those friends and make sure not to loose them, or at the very least end things off on good terms. You will regret it down the road. You also can't afford to let yourself go with mental problems, so try your best, force yourself if you have to, find a way to make things better even if just a bit. And those friends could help a bit to.
@jakeaurod2 жыл бұрын
@@swampcooler8332 Maybe getting VR would work better for me. A friend had a breakdown and all I could do is stand there like a talking mannequin instead of give her a hug, even if it was merely virtual... of course, she may not have wanted a hug from me since I'm older than the average player. It's been an emotional rollercoaster. I went into VRC to relearn to socialize after suffering a brain injury and there are days I think it was a mistake to wake up from the coma.
@swampcooler83322 жыл бұрын
@@jakeaurod I know I'm not a therapist or anything, but it almost sounds like you still need to "wake up" a bit from that coma. Don't let the errors of your past bring you down now, there is nothing but progress to be made! Even if you don't know what to say or do, just be there for your friend and I'm sure it will work out. The good thing about virtual reality is that age doesn't really matter all that much (as long as, you know, she's not 10 and your not a creep or an ahole about it). So try not to worry about being a bit older than most of the rest of the people there. I'm only 21 but I'd befriend someone in their 60s in a heartbeat if they're cool about it and just generally a good person. I know there is probably a good few people in VR that would disagree and shun you for that, but that's not the person to hang around and their words mean nothing to you as long as you don't let them. Even though it's pretty limited in what you can and cant do, you can still go around and get a run down on what everything is and everything in there is super detailed. The zero g physics are also pretty fun although disorienting at times. It's a free experience and is well worth a try, even if you're not that into space.

It is hard to control the ball, and it's not very realistic when it comes to basketball physics. However, one free game you missed is Blacktop Hoops. This is just a better basketball game that makes it much easier to play. You can easily dribble, with the ball coming right back up as opposed to just losing the ball like Gym Class. You're also forced to dribble in Blacktop where Gym Class you don't need to dribble, making it unrealistic. The shooting is also really easy to learn quickly and it also recently added Online Multiplayer. However, this game doesn't get much attention so if you make another video about free games please make sure to mention Blacktop Hoops, it's amazing.

Developed by University students as their final project, it's super well done and makes you really think. The Book of Distance is a VR documentary/personal story published by the National Film Board of Canada. The documentarian tells the story of his grandfather, a Japanese man who moved to Canada from Hiroshima in 1935. It recalls the story of him being detained in Japanese internment camps in Canada during WW2, and the torment of struggling with the bombing of Hiroshima. Extremely high production values, and extremely well made and interesting documentary. This is a real hidden gem.

I can recommend Sail vr free demo. Its on the quest store and its literally just sea of thieves, just in vr and the developer is going to release sail early access this month. It’s great and it’s free. Go download

Thanks for this! I love VR, but don't have a lot of time to play. It's great to take breaks from it and then coming back to it, going through the "must haves" like this when I do. Best use of my time. Thanks Thrill! :)

Do I have a VR headset? No. Will I buy one in a few months? Also no. Have I watched every second of this video and took not of every recommendation, even saving the video for future reference because I want to try almost all of them? DEFINITELY YES!

I saw this list, picked up my quest and got battle talent when you first started talking about it. I liked blades and sorcery but it felt like it didn't live up to the expectation I had of a wave based fantasy fighter. This game is perfect. You can cut your enemies apart, beat them to a pulp with your fists, or even rip their head off with your hands if it's just a bony little man. And it's all held on the headset itself, so it doesn't require a pc for anyone with that problem. 100% recommend, try it.

+if you jump off the bridge for 6 ~ 8 times you can unlock the cheat menu, on the cheat menu. Click the hexagon near the spawner, you can then download mods by subscribing to them, then change the spawner to “mods” to spawn them.

Maaan, I've watch many videos like "Best free quest 2 games", but your list is literally the best. I'm picking up mine quest in 3 days, so I want to be prepared haha, and now I can honestly say "Yes, I'm finally prepared". 😄 Thank you so much! + Those two apps where you can make projects of f.e. cars - mindblowing, I didn't even know that apps like this exsist. Excellent work! 👌🏼✌🏻

Really feel like you did the basics described in every tier list instead of doing a bigger dive into lesser known games that are also really good

I just switched over to vr chat from altspace. I could really use a lead on how to find good groups/rooms without the squeakers if anyone has any advice.

One game you missed was SPARK, a free western fps on app lab. It’s not exactly realistic and kinda gimmicky, but you included gun raiders so I think you should give this one a shot. It has 3 maps for the regular game mode, all of which are good and take time to master, and also riding battles so you can shoot people on horseback. The horses are pretty good too, although all you do is use the thumbstick to run around so don’t expect immersive horseback riding. But it’s not like I have much to compare it to, so like I said the horses are alright. Another app lab game I just got today is Crumbling, a third person story game that reminds me of toy story where you play as an action figure (in third person which I thought was cool since it’s an action figure). Also, another good free app lab game is unstung, a third person tower defense game where you control bees to protect flowers from various other bugs. The mechanics are actually really fun and easy to use and although it isn’t long, I definitely found this one TOUGH. I mean this game can get pretty frustrating if you aren’t up to it, there are multiple difficulties, though. Also, I want to ask you to give this game the attention it deserves, I’ve spent hours and hours in this game doing everything from dungeons to treasure hunting to grinding to side quest to lore quests to potion making and god knows what else. This game is Orbus Vr Reborn. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but if you haven’t tried it you should because this is one of the best games on quest imo. It’s a (basically but not really) open world MOORPG where you have several classes to choose from and you can do SO MUCH. I mean this game has SO MUCH CONTENT FOR ONLY TWENTY DOLLARS HOLY MOTHER OF DOG IS IT OVERWHELMING! I couldn’t even LIST all the things to do here because it should take me so long. This game has a small dev team and the community is just so so amazing and I love it with all my heart. Not once have I come across a racist person, a troll, or almost anyone who is mean. Alright occasionally you get the asshole or the seven year old who have no idea what’s going on and didn’t understand the tutorial and refuses to watch any KZbin videos but other than that this is THE BEST community I have come across in any game ever. At first sight, it looks like a crappy mess with bad graphics and it seems like the only thing going for it are the magic mechanics, (which are really good btw) but once you get into it you start to understand everything, and you appreciate the simple graphics and look beyond what’s on the outside. At heart, this game could become something truly special. Better than contentless generic Zenith, something to really bring the VR community together (and of course give them something to ruin) but even they could never really ruin this amazing game and it’s community would carry on and spread. This game really holds a special place in my heart and everyone should try it out. :)

You have to give a shout out to We Are One. Used to be called Help Yourself. You have several spots to teleport to and you have to work with copies of yourself to complete each puzzle. It's terrific.

You missed Heartlands. It has a new demo available on sidequest, it is graphically impressive and is the closest thing to Skyrim you'll get natively on quest.

I feel like I'm gonna end up forgetting about fortnite, and cod when my quest 2 gets here. I've been waiting years to get one. I heard the quest 2 was coming out, and been saving up for one. Finally made my purchase, and I'm excited for it to show up. I was gonna go with the normal quest, but people been saying no get the quest 2 256gb so I did. But my issue is I think I'll lose track of time when on it, since I do that now playing on my pc.

4:19 if you do have enough money for b&s, get it because it's significantly funner and more immersive. if you don't have the money then go ahead and get it because battle talent is still great for a free game.

Fly Dangerous. Just awesome space racer inspired by Elite Dangerous, but frankly way more fun and replay-able for me. If you have stick & throttle it gives you a racing rush like no other game I know. Super satisfying.

Thank you for including battle talent. I got the game very early on in its devolvement and it was a good game even back then. I play this game almost every day and with mods it really is an amazing game.
