Interesting. Unlike using the spreadsheet dynamic data is maintained within the part file. Thanks for the tip. 😊

Yeah, it's a nice compact view of the data

Great video, thanks for sharing this methodology. I typically use spreadsheets (even modified the startup macro). I can see the single view and compactness of the approach and I do like that they dropped the > bracketing around the grouping, but I guess I'm likely stuck with the spreadsheets, at least for now.

Spreadsheets are great too

I'm glad you showed using dynamic data. Too many videos using hard coded values out there. Personally, I usually default to dynamic data or spreadsheet (usually spreadsheet, as that's what I learned from you in the beginning). You never know when you will return to a project and need to adjust values and having such set up right avoids going in and adjusting everything by hand.. I would also like to know the benefit of dynamic data vs spreadsheet, or is it just a simplicity thing, not having to set up aliases?

The biggest advantage is the compact nature of the dynamic data within the model file. I think there are pros and cons both ways.

Hello! I like the Dynamic Data workbench method. It is somewhat simplified compared to the spreadsheet method when dealing with simple parts. Is there a method to prevent “out of bounds” values that would break the model? Setting up “min/max” values for parameters? Is it then possible to set up dynamic “min/max” values?
@Adventuresincreation Жыл бұрын
I am not aware of any min max values but, if you only calculate values you can prevent most issues.

When making that cylindrical hole, I undesrstab what you are doing, was folowing some of your previous tuts tome time ago (and forhot most since then). Now, does this approach have any pros compared to applying a cylinder primitive and then makinf that a hole? Rge reson I am asking, I was sktching a coupler and in effect it was easier for me to combine a ctlinder, tube and a block (despite FC refusing to transfer a cylinder into a hole directly).

There are many ways to achieve the same end. It really depends what works best for your situation.

@@Adventuresincreation I see, thanks. I was probably even messing up the bodies. Perhaps I need to start from scratch again. Thank for your tuts even more! :D

hi, what's advantage over this instead of spreadsheet?
@Adventuresincreation Жыл бұрын
The compact nature of the data being held in the file however both techniques have pros and cons.

@@Adventuresincreation thanks for responding man, I actually learned about spreadsheet from your channel. Perhaps pros and cons that would be for your next vid. :D
