That's a lovely image, but they tried to cover up the lynching of an innocent black man until footage recorded by one of the trio responsible was discovered. Months after the man was gunned down in the street for the "crime" of going for a job in his neighbourhood. Look up Amaud Arbery, if you want more evidence of the (un)usefulness of the Georgia "justice" system.

I'm writing all the way from Poland, and I have been following cases like this in the US for a long time, but it still makes me so so angry when I hear about new ones! Sure, it happens everywhere, not just in the US, we in Poland have cases like this too, but the difference is, that it's not happening as often as in the US, and we don't have capital punishment/death, so at least we are not killing the innocent people. But what occurs within the 'justice' system in the US is really insane! The number of awful, corrupted cops and prosecutors who twist people's words during the interviews, manipulate people and just straight lie or plant evidence is terrifying and disgusting!! Also, what's worse, how is that possible, that these evil cops and prosecutors, and lying 'witnesses' never pay ANY of the consequences/for ruining the lives of innocent people!! I'm so glad that John Grisham uses his power and voice for this great cause, to help the wrongfully convicted!! God bless these three innocent men, I wish you all the best now, all the love, comfort, and happiness possible!!
@leviathan68w78Ай бұрын
Prosecutors withholding evidence should be in prison. Police officers who hide evidence should be in prison. Witnesses who knowingly lie should be in prison. We convict so many people in this country without any solid evidence. This is the exact opposite of what America is supposed to be. Our justice system assumes you're guilty until you prove your innocence which is in violation of the Constitution and English Common Law. It's not just convictions either. Cops are constantly detaining people in violation of their 4th amendment rights on fabricated suspicion. Obviously some localities are much worse than others.

Their is a case going on right now, the man was going to be put to death and it was stopped for now. Even DR Phil, who i can't stand, testified. The guy was accused of shaking his daughter to death..this was years ago, the child was sick, had medical problems. Now they some doctors are saying, saying she wasn't shaken to death.

Especially before DNA, this was common. Police have an arrest quota, prosecutors want to raise their batting average and media exposure. And our favorite, racist cops. The Innocence Project is also a non-profit helping exonerate innocent people. Poor countries dont have a way to freedom - so you are still in the best democracy.

I watch true crime for years and years and years now and every two or so that I see are about people that were wrongfully convicted, and I've been hearing about this for more than 25 years but I'm sure there's many many cases the cocky lying cops and the extra cocky super criminal detectives push and force convictions on people that are innocent and it really makes me sick to my stomach I worry about this every week every month every year because too many people are have been put in jail that are not guilty....omg.... America wake up wake up , this happens all the time

It is also a business. Many prisons are privately owned and they charge the state or the federal government to run them. It is a business to convict and keep innocent people in prison. We also have a very puritanical sense of justice. It is not enough that people lose all their rights by going to prison, most Americans want people to suffer every single day while they are there. Very unchristian, very inhumane. This country is so messed up. It is a decaying democracy and its body parts are falling along the road.

I guess if any good came out of this they each have two of the Bestfriends anyone could ever ask for. Something beyond even what Twins experience I'd assume..... like Conjoined twins level of closeness and that's pretty cool.
