It is her STORY, her experience, her prayers. She is doing her very best to honor the those still held, she is fighting for their release, their very lives. It seems as though it was important to her that her message was clear and concise, that she could say everything she needed to say. Trauma has a way of making one stutter, go mute even, blank out because your mind is trying to protect you from reliving everything. I would have needed to write it all down too, especially feeling the responsibility to help and the weight of knowing that what you do or don’t say could have consequences that go far beyond yourself.

I listened to an interview and testaments of women who handled the body identification for women. They said most are traumatized to the point they are working with professionals and going through checks and balances to ensure they only provide their testimony when they can handle telling it. Some are in mental institutions from my understanding.

The Red Cross went to Qatar to negotiate aid for Palestinians and didn't try for the hostages. When members of the Red Cross met with the families of hostages, the Red Cross refused to take medication to a hostage. But the Red Cross asked the families about Palestinian suffering. I wonder if the Red Cross asked Palestinians about the suffering of the hostages. I won't give blood to the Red Cross again. There are other blood banks.
