Kyrie wanted to get traded to the Celtics (which obviously did happen) because they were the best team in the East in the 2010s era, behind the Cavs. Another reason Kyrie wanted to leave the Cavs was because of his jealousy of LeBron. Kyrie wanted to be the first option in Cleveland, and he knew he would not be the leader of the team with LeBron on the same team. So, Kyrie decided to leave the Cavs because he thought he could run the East, beat LeBron in the playoffs, win a title as the leader of his team, and prove that he was the main reason the Cavs won in 2016. But it did not happen.

@@penkima4923 I am somewhat confused about the lack of criticism of Doncic. Luka had a great game, eerily similar to a bad LeBron James statline. Not great from 3, bad from the charity stripe and 8 TOs. On the good side, he had 32 points, 11 boards and 11 dimes. When LeBron loses against a better team, he gets crucified in the comments section with a better statline than Luka had. Luka on the other hand, is in his prime, or just about entering it, he gets none of that. I think Luka should team up with LeBron because LeBron is the only active player who knows how it feels to do so much on the court, and still come up short against a better team. LeBron is also the only player, who has consistently lead worse teams against better teams to victory. I think LeBron would be the best playing mentor for Luka.
@penkima49237 ай бұрын
@@MrClebophd Luka is playing his worst playoff run, but people tend to ignore that because he's winning. People say Tatum is playing great basketball, even though they said he choked in the 2022 finals, and he's playing worse now in 2024. And LeBron is in the GoaT conversation, Luka isn't. And regular fans don't know what a good statline is, anyway. LeBron needs to keep playing with big men, who don't dominate the ball, so LeBron can control his co-star's statline. Teaming up with Luka would mean that LeBron has given up on chasing MJ's six rings, and I don't think he's done yet. Even if all else fails for the Mavs, Luka will average a 30-point triple-double. Even if all else fails for the Nuggets, Jokic will do the same as Luka. They could be unstoppable.
@SweatIRL7 ай бұрын
@@MrClebophd Luka usually gets a lot of criticism, it's just hard to send it his way when he's THIS obviously the only one on his team who came to play thus far in the series. Also, he was pretty good from 3. The turnovers is an argument, but you have to realize that he had to do everything because his teammates just weren't hitting any open shots, so at some point, after the first game and the first half of this game of his teammates choking, he's not going to feel confident passing when he's being triple-teamed by elite defenders. Of course, he should pass the ball in those cases but you can't exactly blame him when he's been doing it the entire time, yet his teammates miss every open look nonetheless.
@MrClebophd7 ай бұрын
@@SweatIRL Yes, don't get me wrong. I think both Luka and Lebron gets blamed for everything. LeBron to a higher degree though. The Wolves' blowout wins might have been better D than this, but not over the whole series. Once Dallas adjusted to emphasize their weak points, they did well against that D. Remains to be seen if they can do it against Boston. No other team Dallas has faced has a rim protector who can shoot the 3 and punish mismatches like Porzingis. But they also have good-to-very good switchable defenders: no real weak links on the perimeter besides Al Horford.
