The Apple Watch Ultra is currently useless for any serious freediving, crippled by both the built in software and the Oceanic+ app. I’m giving Oceanic until the end of this year to see if they update their app with a truly dedicated, full-featured freediving mode with everything we need including current/max depth, surface time, water temp, location marking, and useful logging that displays all the raw data plus some useful graphics. They replied to my email with a vague but optimistic message advising me to stay tuned. If they deliver I’ll be the first to promote their app. Otherwise I’m ditching my Watch Ultra and switching to something else.

I'm on the same page as you! I will say they have come along way. My biggest gripe was no surface interval, which we now have. If we could mark spots with GPS like the Garmin, bro what a game changer that would be.

I guess you already know this, but the speargun should float itself when the shaft is out.

Yea for sure. I had nothing but issues with that gun so I did the 2 part foam and no more sinking gun with shaft out.

So the surface interval isn’t available on any of the dive apps? Unfortunately that is the MOST important function. Everything else is pretty much bragging rights not safety. That’s a bummer. Nice fish by the way!

Surface interval has been added along with a dedicated freedive mode. Hope to have an update vid soon.
