@@WildKiwiAdventurer starting 11:10 the camera work at the bottom and narration leading up to seeing you appear from a little, black blob against a small window of surface light is amazing. You did great. I could imagine being deep in the water, feeling the surrounding and hearing the sound of whales while looking up at you. No absolutely not. If you breath air down there at depth, when you come up it expands and your lungs and air passages will explode and you can easily die.

I have just lost my 23 yr old son to the lure of freediving in Rhodes. This is the most dangerous thing you can do with fins on. He was training there on a 3 month master diver course...so very familiar with Scuba diving. So many people blackout...or SIPE. Its diving version of Russian Roulette....please dont do this unless you want your family to get a very sad phonecall to tell them you have drowned.
@juanbolivar354 жыл бұрын
WOW! 30 M!, that is a lot!.... I failed my FD course due I couldn't equalize, I was able to hold my breath for 3:15 in static apnea, but it is frustrating not being able to go all the way down.... someday I will try again
@WildKiwiAdventurer4 жыл бұрын
Thats a shame that you cant equalise and its certainly one of the harder things to do for some people. But you should try again with a different instructor because that can really make a big difference

Extremely dangerous sport. Many people blackout down there... Respect though for bravery!!!
@WildKiwiAdventurer4 жыл бұрын
Yes there is some risk, but for these dives, I have a safety diver next to me for the dangerous part, that is the top 15m or so. You are actually very unlikely to blackout deep down, you are most likely to do it just before you reach the surface. And if your safety diver takes you straight to the surface you will start breathing again usually straight away, so it is not as dangerous as you would think. To do this alone would be dangerous. And I have done that too but its not recommended.
