Somewhere on Earth - All episodes: • Somewhere on Earth | A...
Somewhere on Earth is taking you to Central Asia; to Kyrgyzstan, where the population lives in harmony with Nature. The Kyrgyz, a semi-nomadic people of horsemen, carry their cultural heritage with pride. Kyrgyzstan, this small land-locked country, is made up of high plateaus, surrounded by impassable mountains, an enclave of harsh serenity. The Tian Shan, literally “The Celestial Mountains”, rise to an altitude of 7400 meters. Welcome to the realm of boundless peaks. These mountains form a jewel box containing inestimable treasures.
Muscat BORUCHEV lives in the Ters Valley, in the west of the country, where he raises only Kygyrz horses, a breed that nearly disappeared during the Soviet era on account of extensive crossbreeding with Russian horses. He decided to bring this breed back and let the rest of the world know about the characteristics of this sturdy horse. Since 2009 he’s been concentrating his efforts on the spotted horse, the charat in Kygyrz.
Bastien CHAIX Bastien came to Kyrgyzstan for the first time 9 years ago. This ornithologist-slash-naturalist fell in love with this country where the people are in such close contact with Nature. Bastien, a committed enthusiast, has been leading scientific expeditions for the NGO Objectif Sciences International, since 2009. To make the youth of Kyrgyzstan aware of environmental issues the organism funds expeditions with youngsters from the Karakol orphanage who’ve lost contact with the world of Nature.
Through the dust and heat of the dirt tracks in the south, one can sometimes catch sight of an odd vehicle. It’s the all-terrain eBilim bus. On board, are Iliyaz USENOV and Kuban MOIDINOV, a pair of enthusiastic buddies. eBilim is a mobile digital library; its mission is to inform and educate in the most remote, isolated communities of Naryn province.

- The country is mostly mountains. To say that Kyrgyzstan is hilly is putting it mildly. ... - It's one of the world's least-crowded countries. ... - It produced the longest poem in history. ... - Kyrgyz warriors were fierce (how can they not be with all the warrior like letters) - Kyrgyzstan is home to three Unesco World Heritage sites. I always get a bit overwhelmed when it comes to all the -stan countries. But I’ll never give up trying - the ultimate goal being able to point them out on a map! 😀 Enjoy a fantastic Friday in Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬

I was in Kyrgyzstan last month, very friendly people and since they're talking Kyrgyz language and I speak Turkish it was so easy to communicate.

@alexanderhartdegen7230 9 ай бұрын
Is Kyrgyz and turkish same language;are you guys desemdents of same turkic people?
@sali-ali
@sali-ali 9 ай бұрын
Yes they're almost the same language. Like 50% of the words are the same, the others are very similar and the structure of the sentences are 100% same. Kyrgyz language is more like an original Turkish. If you speak Turkish you can communicate with them using Turkish. Before the fall of the ottoman empire the languages were even closer. But after the establishment of Turkish Repiblic, the founder of Turkey Ataturk made a language revolution and replaced a lot of the words that came from Arabic and other languages with newly made Turkish words. The good thing is most of the Kyrgyz people have lived in Turkey and they watch Turkish TV, dramas etc. in Turkish language, so every second Kyrgyz can speak Turkish in some degree. The different words are very similar too, the rule of thumb is replace Y with J = Yol road in Turkish is Jol in Kyrgyz. This is valid for maybe 200-300 words. Turks are descendants of Kyrgyz people, but they're mixed with Anatolian nations. So Kyrgyz people are the original Turks :) If you speak Turkish you can directly communicate with Azerbaijani people, Turkmens, Tatars and Gagauz people these languages are 90% same as Turkish. Almost like British and US English, some words and the accent is different. You can also communicate with Uzbeks it's like 60% same, than Kazakh and Kyrgyz languages are like 50%, but you can't communicate with Yakuts, Uygurs etc. because in their languages common words are less than 10%. But be careful sometimes the same word is used in both languages but has a different meaning. For example: Dusundum, this words means I am thinking or I care in Turkish but it means, I understand in Kyrgyz language. So if you say "Ben sizi dusunmuyorum" to Kyrgyz he will understand "I can't understand what you're saying" but if you say the same thing to Turkish person, he will understand "I don't care about you". So accidents might happen :) @@alexanderhartdegen7230
