What beautiful, I mean, glorious... scenery! 🙂 Where I live it's flat, flat, flat. About 300 miles minimum to any kind of (even small) mountains. I'm enjoying watching this whole series, even if I am two years late.

That is what I like an old fashioned carpenter who measures in feet & inches. What a "Gorgeous" gate like you would see in a model village. I enjoyed the lager with you. Well done that man. Stay safe my friend.

Cheers Mark, I’ve been back up in the lakes for the last 2 weeks and the weather has been fantastic. Warm but not silly hot and incredibly foggy mornings. It’s been an absolute joy to photograph Take care bud and I hope you’re well 🍺

Nice walk Darren. When I used to paraglide in the Welsh mountains all day. First drink in the pub was a pint of ice cold coke. Gets the system going before the beer and food. Always worked for me.mate. Great watch and looking forward to the next part.

It looks like John kelly abandoned the attempt on day 3, just after he met you? just saying. Such an inspiring series, makes me want to walk in the lakes. Only been once many years ago. I think I could be returning in 2022. The receptionist is probably used to seeing people in all sorts of states, mostly wet. That pint looked soooo good ! Take care Darren.

It’s a stunning location Darthnog. I’m currently sitting on top of a fell in perfect temperatures just overlooking the Langdales. It’s no good for photography but it’s good for the soul. Take care mate and hope to bump into you in 2022 🍺🍺
This is such fun traveling along with you through the beautiful ;-) countryside! BTW, I was amused to hear you say about 2.5 minutes in that you were going to get out of Dodge. My husband’s parents lived in Dodge City (yes, that one) for many years. I’ve gotten out of Dodge often! Looking forward to the next episode. I almost feel like I’m hiking along with you.

I wish you was hiking with me Kathleen as you could have carried the rucksack 😉 I’m really pleased you’re enjoying the videos as it’s also nice for me to look back on. I’m back in the Lakes as I type this and Helen and I are about to hike Harrison Stickle today. It will all make sense in the next video, but today is going to be a very special day for us both. Stay safe and have a lovely day 🍺

LOL! I doubt I could lift that rucksack. It looks bigger than I am. I’m impressed that you’re carrying it all those miles. I hope you and Helen have a lovely time. I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Hi Darren, I saw that the video was quite a long one so I made a cuppa and settled down to watch it on the TV, it was quite beautiful 😂😂. Had to laugh you and cows. The last part of the video where you were in Great Langdale looking at the Pikes I have stood in that same spot a few times, and you mentioned the campsite, I have dragged out my camping gear and I have booked 3nights at the Great Langdale campsite on the 7th September. So your video has really wetted my appetite for going up there can't wait, it's been a great series of videos Darren really enjoyable good on ya mate.Looking forward to seeing the views in the next video.

Oh, and as for alternatives to beautiful? Try pulchritudinous? I must say though that the word beautiful is not a word that can be overused or misapplied. The word that I think I is way overused on other walking vlogs is the word ‘stunning’! Just way overused. Stick with ‘beautiful’. 😂

Loving this series, mate. Just curious to know if the overnight stop was at Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel? I am looking to book it as a base for a few days. What are your thoughts on the hotel? Looking forward to Part 4. Cheers, Nigel
@DarrenKnightPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel, I stayed at the New Dungeon Ghyll not the Old. And so I can recommend the New. It’s not the Hilton but it’s clean, the foods pretty good, good bar, beer garden and it’s a great location. Make sure you enter from Skelwith as it’s an easier drive in. The other entrance is tight and a bugger at times I think the distance between the new and old is about 500 meters, but have a quick Google. I hope that helps mate and enjoy your trip 🍺🍺

Great fun video. I don’t understand how it works in the UK…I’m always seeing you guys open gates and climbing over “laddered” stone fences. I’m from Ontario Canada and we don’t do things like that unless we’re trespassing. Is it all public land? And so clean. We have empty Tim Hortons paper cups littered everywhere
@DarrenKnightPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Hi Leigh, Yes the vast majority of the UK is public land unless marked as private. The gates are there just to stop livestock from straying. Sometimes there’s “right of way” footpaths that go through peoples gardens. Regarding clean:- yes our country side is remarkably clean, however………due to more staycations, certain idiots don’t respect the country side and it’s quite sad, but they are in the minority (thank goodness) but the vast majority of people are very respectful and take their rubbish home or even pick up others (I did it tonight). Thanks for watching, take care and stay safe 👋
@rlrphotography-uk3 жыл бұрын
very good .loosing weight for the gates was a bonus LOL . good luck day 4 . BTW what is the orange unit on the shoulder .GPS ? or ------------?
