Please everyone listen to me, it hurts to see that so many people are facing this . As I came here, I saw the comments, it's beautiful that everyone Is being positive and sympathetic to each other but, while I was going through the comments it made me feel that this is such a big problem, having OCD is such a big problem!WHICH IS NOT TRUE! BELIEVE ME IT'S NOT TRUE! While trying to be positive unintentionally everyone just made it look bigger and worst, don't do that ,don't do that to yourself ,you are just giving ocd more power over yourself , it's all in our head we think it to be a very big problem and that gives it more control over us , there are only few reason that people have it , first and main reason is thinking it to be a big problem, secondly not having important things to do in life( okay don't take me wrong it doesn't means that you don't have goals ,you have goals but ocd gets above everything for you its us who can priorities our things) tell yourself the truth ,the truth that ocd is not a big thing ,most of people have it in different forms it depends on us if you want to ignor it or let it hurt you and then it cause us to feel guilty , no don't feel guilty , you haven't done anything wrong you are the strong one that's willing to fight something that you were not suppose do but still fighting .It's not your fault .Nothing to be guilty about. The unwanted guilty makes it worse, it's the guilt that hurts us the most not the thoughts So just ignor it and keep yourself busy as you become more focused in diffrent things eventually this off will go away slowly and you won't even have to ignor anything .As you stop paying attention to it, as you stop believing that it's a huge problem or something, as you become more focused towards life it will go away with some time and there will be a time when you won't even remember that there was any such issue with you once. Stop this sympathy guys focus on your life it will go away.

It’s nonstop mental torture. I particularly have it as of late, it being focused on the outlines of things I see and focusing on my peripheral vision. It’s really difficult, I’m on SSRI medication, and I’ve currently started therapy, but I don’t want to live like this, I won’t live like this. Hopefully, and I sincerely do hope, that life will be less painful to live in the future than it is now. Bless each and every one of you, we’re in this together, though we may often feel alone with just ourselves.

Hey y'all I'm pretty good now. I went through flower medicine therapy with the guidance of an extremely understanding and caring counselor. Just breathe deeply when you get an intrusive thought.. Say to yourself that it's just a thought that's passing through and don't concentrate on it. (Breathing deeply is very important) Do other things that'll distract you from this habit.. soon you'll get out of it, The cycle.

I used to experience extreme intrusive thoughts for a period of time. It was the worst. It was like going through hell. I was imprisoned. I repeatedly mumbled compulsion words and because of that a lot of times I got embarrassed around people. The only thought that helped me get out of that hell was this: "When you think about these stuff you get anxious and frustrated, so it means that deep down you don't like doing the things your mind tells you to do and you don't like being the things it accuses you of being. So that means you are not a bad person if you have these thoughts" Another thing that helped me was meditating. With meditation I learned that thoughts are only illusions. They come and they go. They aren't necessarily true or false. I learned to take a moment and observe them without judgment. When you don't judge your thoughts by labeling them "good" or "bad" you naturally get a clearer vision of what is actually true. Just like a lake, you can't see your picture in it if it is wavy.

This is gonna be long lol. So I don’t leave comments often, but I felt overwhelmed with empathy reading the comments on here so I felt I needed to share. If you come across this comment I hope it gives you a little hope. I’ve struggled with OCD (particularly Pure O- intrusive thoughts) since I was 7 years old. It stopped when I was 10, then came back when I was 17. I’m about to be 23 and this past year I had a rapid turn around for the better, I have put a lot of work in and have healed immensely, like a complete 180 with a lot of my triggers. I have a ways to go, but I know I can overcome it. I want to write more in depth about particular triggers I had and got rid of but I don’t want to trigger anyone in the process- but just know it will get better once you accept what you’re feeling/thinking, get out of your head and focus on what your body is feeling when you get triggered, and let the thought go away without resisting it. And most importantly, realize you are so much bigger than those measly intrusive thoughts!! They are not you! You are so bright, beautiful, and powerful that they can’t mess with you if you don’t acknowledge them/put any energy towards them. Trust me I know it’s easier said than done. I’m still working on it today but I have come so far and I know you can too. I believe in you 💙🦋

I snapped out of that only to have different topics come up later. things that have helped me are ssris, keeping caffeine consumption to a minimum because it depletes serotonin, EMDR and CBT w a psychologist, finding out about my genes, i.e., i have a mutated Mtfhr gene and must take methyl folate (raises serotonin) studying nutrition and taking the right supplements. also, I stopped believing in Christianity and am an atheist. to me, the bible is a collection of terrorizing stories geared to keep people scared and submissive...and to those of us who are prone to it, obsessed. the things I obsess about now are real world crises, things I really cannot change, but I am far better than I used to be.

The benefits derived from this though are incredibly hard to believe but so surely felt. I suffer from OCD / Intrusive thoughts. When the thoughts come, I have to repeat them in my head. Problem is, I can't. I start out, stop, redo and do it all over again. It can last HOURS. I just had one now found this. While I don't know if it helped my OCD (which I believe it did to an extent) it certainly helped calm my mind down. Sorry you all (and I) have this issue. It's an issue I wouldn't want to inflict on my worst enemy. Stay strong, and seek out cognitive therapy. You need to retrain your brain to deal with the issue. I'm currently on a wait list for a specialist.

You know what's really funny for me, one moment, I am so affected by my intrusive thoughts, but then sometimes, I just feel like laughing how nonsensical they are. This truly helps!!! I will just be shocked how I'm unaffected when my intrusive thoughts come.

I'm looking at these comments, and i really appreciate it. Thank you all of you, I suffer very badly with OCD and the intrusive thought images just get too much sometimes, despite non of my friends and very few of my family members understanding it. Seeing this comments is so uplifting, thank you all of you.

You guys this is the realest comment section ever, ive heard so many people say OCD is just perfectionism but its so untrue. I wish it was just obsessive tidiness, I cant ever work toward something because my dream in life will change by the time I wake up. I obsess over everything but love nothing and that is one of many harsh realities of OCD

Hey all. You are all amazing and beautiful people, inside and out. You are greater than your struggle. I also struggle with OCD and it has caused me a lot of pain in my life. But I have learned to embrace it and realize that it is truly a gift. It has given me to strength to pursue my dreams and achieve them, and the desire to inspire the world to do the same. God Bless Everyone!

Thank you for this. I overcame much of my OCD and PTSD with EMDR treatment but my OCD still lingers around sometimes. I've found that mentally picturing blocking intrusive thoughts help a lot. I still have checking behaviors but it's less. This is my first day listening to this. I hope to do it often. :)

I struggle with Pure O everyday, morning to night. It feels like every day gets worse and the mornings are especially awful, which I heard was because of your serotonin levels being lower when you wake up. Meditation, music, exercise, and talking/listening to people who are either informed about ocd or have experienced it themselves has helped a lot. I know I can get through this, it's just really hard/scary right now.

I been dealing with OCD and the like my whole life. Not to the Extreme as I seen other people have. But it Is in that spectrum, ADHD, intrusive thoughts. Hard to focus.. Etc etc. Can Not take meds for it as I am extremely sensitive to Any and All head meds. That is out of the question now. Side effects. Crazy shit happens to me . I found this a few days ago. Trying this now. I like it... So far so good..

I have obssesive thoughts. And they got worse after I had a severe PTSD. I tried a lot of different tehniques and teachings, some of them got me worse. We are all in our minds for many reasons. First, we are not coneccted to our body. It is like no gravity feeling. If you check i side, trying to focus on youre walking, but slowly youll see that you dont feel youre body, and thw moves. Practicing present moment. Repeating it untill its a habbit. If you want to get out of mind go back in youre body. Bioenergetics also help. Healing past traumas, the first step. OCD is escape from something that youre ego and mind doesnt want you to see. It is always some great inner child trauma that could occur years ago, and got you stucked out of body expirience. Dive in youre emotions, youre physical body, and conect to soul. Observe. But to observe we all need to commit several years of healing path. It is a long and difficult proces, but there is a light on the end of each tunnel. Keep going, never give up. No metter how old are you, this protective mechanism in the brain and brain wireing can change.

I have had intrusive thoughts since I was 10 after I experience something awful at 6 years old. All the memories came back when I was 10 & that’s when it all began. My mind was never the same. I began thinking crazy things, things I felt so guilty thinking about because I didn’t want those thoughts, it gave me so much anxiety & ever since I’ve sufffered. I’m 26 now. Although there are seasons when I feel happy & fine, I know the thoughts & anxiety come back. I also have ROCD & it has affected my relationship so much. I truly hope you all are doing ok & fighting everyday for our freedom. I believe one day we will all get through this & live the life we so long strive for. Idk you all but I want you guys to know that I am a stranger that has a love for you, I care about you & I will pray for all of you, God Bless.
