This sentiment is so true, especially for the real Miep Gies. I was lucky enough to receive a reply from her when I wrote her a letter expressing my admiration for her. She wrote back saying she appreciated my words, but found it troubling that young people label her and her actions as "heroic" because "If it takes a hero to simply do the right thing when it is needed, then what is a hero?" I've always remembered that line from her letter and carried it with me in my heart. She's right. It's not about being a "hero"; it's about everyday people realizing they have it inside them to do the just, loving thing whenever and wherever it is needed. It's why I don't give any credence to the "You're just an SJW!" crowd; they simply will never understand that. This film is wonderful and I absolutely love this scene.

Even if superheroes are not real, it is a nice thing to inspire people in the real world to do good things. Especially take Black Panther for instance, as someone previously stated, it got people interested more in black representation and cinematically film's like these are good to evolve how we tell stories. Also plenty of film's being made of inspirational stories of real or fictional people, it's not really not that hard to find, it's a matter of whether you want to watch them or not.

She details in a few videos her two trips to SS headquarters that sadly failed but she had tried. It was brave of her because they could've sent her away too.

I bet when Jewish teenagers watched this movie, whether in the theatres or in their high schools, they probably cried because they're familiar with Anne Frank, and other who perished in the Holocaust, as some of their family and ancestors were affected, and were eventually inspired to do the right thing to make sure their friends will be safe from the evils of antisemitism. Same with others regarding their sexual orientation, gender, race, nationality, etc. Some call it heroism but it's just doing the right thing
