Wow! All of us at Blue Man Group are so grateful for the love around this video so far. Many of your comments have moved the entire company to tears and we love to hear your stories. This was one of the most fun and most musically challenging things we have done! To figure out how the Blue Man and Josh would perform this together on stage and what the Blue Man version of it would be in such an incredibly short amount of time took work from our entire NYC cast and crew. An example of what creative collaboration can do to create something magical. 💙 On behalf of Blue Man Group WE LOVE YOU! - Hailey Jester, Sr Social Media Manager

@kritorys514 3 ай бұрын
@@4Realzeaz That would maybe make sense if there was a North American touring show right now, but there isn't, not that their shows would need such a targeted ad to sell tickets anyways. If you've watched a full show you know it's the kind of thing that will sell out by word of mouth alone. BMG has been around for many, many years now in both permanent and tour venues shows; with the sheer number of backing and touring musicians and technical support that have rotated over time, it's very reasonable that there are connections behind the scenes that allow a unique opportunity like this to happen.

My dad was a drummer, and I remember he ordered one of the first Blue Man Group performances on pay per view in the late nineties or early 2000s. Fast forward years later, and because of my interest in the band he becomes enamored with The Black Parade due to it being a concept album, which he loved because of bands like Queen. I sorely wish he could see this performance now. It moved me to tears, with how it exemplified how beautiful drums can be.

"Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist." This quote perfectly encapsulates the journey of a drummer. As drummers, we start by mastering the fundamentals-timing, rhythm, and technique. These are the rules that guide us, ensuring that we provide the backbone of any musical ensemble. But the true magic happens when we move beyond the basics. Once we’ve internalized the rules, we gain the freedom to experiment, innovate, and create something entirely our own. It’s in those moments of breaking the rules-whether it’s an unexpected fill, a syncopated rhythm, or a creative use of dynamics-that we elevate drumming from a skill to an art form.

We were the only people seated in the last row and as a result, the house wanted to pull the back curtain up one row. They offered us to come sit in the front row instead and gave us ponchos since we would now be in the splash zone! What proceeded was the most incredible evening of paint, percussion, and passion!!! God bless your Micing/Mixing/Mastering Team on this one. You can hear just how much of a struggle it was to get everything at proper levels to pop and then to (somehow) sneak the recorded track underneath all of it while still keeping the energy of the live "room" performance. That was a feat.

With the blue man group, there is no way to get a real blue man experience on a live first reaction to a song. This feels like a representation of what their behind the stage process of Blue Man-ing a song would turn into with short notice. It doesn’t take away from the magic of re-imagining this song and using it in a way to connect in a different way. This is about drummers of all kinds coming together to appreciate music across the spectrum genres and styles. Blue Man Group inspired my love for music and percussion because they brought a childlike spirit to something that felt super serious and unattainable. I love this performance and the creative to make this happen. Thank you!

A testament to how well-written the entire song is. The different parts fit together so well that even when a part is missing, the most fitting way to fill in that gap is pretty close to the original. While modern bands and music artists don't have anywhere near the same complexity as a full orchestra, they're effectively doing what composers do.

I'll never forget being an audience member as a teen at one of their Vegas shows and actually being selected to go on stage by one of them along with a young lady. For her, they threw marshmallows at each other from far away, caught them with their mouths, then basically regurgitated them onto a spike on a hat they put on her head. 😅 For me, they gave me a large plain light blue shirt to wear over my outfit, threw (edible) paintballs at each other, caught them with their mouths, then sprayed the paint onto the shirt with their mouths, creating quite an interesting art piece! The paint got on my jacket too, but hey, it just added a bit of personality to it. I still have a photo of my time on that stage; I didn't smile much back then being an angsty teen, but I very much enjoyed my time with them and will forever cherish that memory. ❤

Honestly, the Blue Man Group have been part of my life for almost a quarter of a century now, having seen them live in Vegas in 2002 for the first time. They never cease to amaze me with their wild and inventive musical takes, and I'm always hoping for more new things! Bravo!

The Blue Man Group is a great spectacle to see live. I saw them perform for a Tower Records party in Sacramento around 1999.

I don't know how Drumeo can top this. This is one of the best things I've seen on the whole-ass Internet in a long time. Why did a silly drum video make me smile and tear up at the same time? Witnessing this level of mastery at work is so rare, and I'm just glad I got to enjoy it because somebody hit the record button. ♥️🎧🤘

I saw them in Vegas, the original trio, back in 2005 and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! They climbed over my seat and I had blue paint all in my hair. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. 100/10 recommend.

They are absolute masters at the way they layer the different sounds into one cohesive sound. It sounds awesome! The liquid drum section was dope too

I saw the Blue Man Group in Chicago about 20 years ago. Saw them again with my wife shortly thereafter. Took some friends to see them in NYC. Took my kid to see them 2 years ago on tour in DC. If you haven't seen them, go. It's a great show! Especially for drum enthusiasts!

If there is anything that BMG has down to a science it’s visuals. If you’ve never sat down for a full BMG performance I can’t tell you what you’re missing. You just got to see it for yourself. It’s the most seamless live music/theatre experience I’ve ever seen.

When i was yound and started to be more addicted to drums, those guys really open my eyes about a lot of thinks that are beyond just playing good or fast. To be a musician is also to bring a message to the world. Those guys bring only love, peace and positivity... I really love them and how they do their show. Thanks to Drumeo for inviting them!

Damn, my music teacher introduced me to the Blue Man Group when I was younger with their Dave Matthews collab. Saw them in concert once when they came to town. They're still going strong apparently because this was INSANE.

TBMG got me into musical performance and MCR got me into theatrical punk. My son knows I used to be a great drummer, and I haven’t been able to show him (I was injured before his birth, and stopped playing). I can wait to show him this, because he wants to “hang and bang like dad” Thank you Drumeo, and thank you BMG! Josh I met you in Charlotte NC when I was 17, we took a photo together!
