Imagine not always using foil to highlight what a result that would be. Well it is entirely possible having done a video a few weeks ago talking about using Hi lift tint and tint with a spatula for highlighting, Lots of people commented and said that it wouldn’t necessarily be possible To do that technique using bleach, well in this video I want to talk about how I do it in the salon it is a technique that I use all the time and it really really does simplify your life if you don’t have to reach the foils every time you wanna use the highlight technique.

I tried this on myself last night. Took me 40 minutes to do a full head. Because of the chunkier sections I'm going to do it again in a few days because it want it brighter but it really worked. I've never been able to use foils and as you use less bleach near the scalp the line of demarcation is nowhere near as harsh, so I don't even need to go in with a root tap! Just want to say thank you, it worked a treat!

I tried this on myself last night. I’m not a pro and can never get foils close to the root on myself and usually get at least one bleed. This was loads easier! I am slightly too warm at the crown, but there’s no line of demarcation like I get with foil. Soft and blended. Thanks!

So I just used this technique at home! Worked really well some of my root was bit ginger but I have lots of red in my natural colour nothing a bit of toner won’t fix and it brightened up my existing highlights really well without damage! I used wella blondor with 20vol 🙂

Hi James, love your videos. Would you use this technique even on clients with base colour on level 6, or is it better to not to do free hand techniques when their base colour is lower than that level 7? Thanks Pete :)
@TheLifeOfHair
@TheLifeOfHair 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Pete thank you for your question yes you could do this on somebody with a Base 6,5 or 4 for any base really The only thing that I would say is that at best you are going to get 3 to 4 levels of lift when using 30 volume so it is always worth remembering that if the base is on level 6 best result is probably going to be a nine

so beautiful and so much easier, but how do you keep bleach from drying out? i guess you must work fast...
@TheLifeOfHair
@TheLifeOfHair 5 жыл бұрын
It’s quite good technique in all honesty it takes around 35 to 45 mins to apply, One of the things that is important is the layering of the product that I mentioned a small amount and then apply another small amount over the top this really helps to stop it drying out. 👍🏻😁

@TheLifeOfHair
@TheLifeOfHair 3 жыл бұрын
Wonderful Kate glad you enjoyed this one I prefer 1 to 1.5 for these particular techniques so for instance 30 g of bleach powder to 45 g of peroxide it lifts really nicely and it insures that your project doesn’t travel to other parts of the hair are you don’t want it hope that helps all the best James
