Pointed out to me in a portion of my video I get the rear compression and rebound adjustment garbled/reversed. Blue shock Fastace dial is compression and bottom red on the shock is rebound. Sometimes tough making video and catching yourself making inaccurate statements or slips. Reason why many choose not to make/create videos and just watch. Apologies and I want to rectify this here.

Great vid! A few things to add to anybody reading the comments. These are great front forks and they are one of a very few that can actually handle the stress of an Emoto. I ride a Talaria Sting, it came with the Fast Ace Forks. I was pretty unhappy with them at first because they were way too soft. Turns out they were all shipped with a 38lb spring! On the Fast Ace website you can get replacement springs for like $60 a pop! I was looking into upgrades like Fox 40s, Bomber 58s, Manitous, etc... those expensive mtb shocks are just too lightweight to deal with our heavy bikes. The only fork I've found that is better than the (upgraded) Fast Ace are the Arma EXT MX which are purpose built for bikes our size. $700 shocks ($820 with the upgraded springs) vs. $2800 shocks... For the rear suspension, I went with the Von Katt to replace the stock DNM. Another purpose built Emoto product.

Charged Cycle Works out of Utah has grown into a big e-moto shop. They offer all the good stuff and service the forks like the Fastace and have the 2 different spring options. $350 for spring swap and full fork rebuild/service. I would think if you upgrade the front fork springs then almost certain then the rear needs a higher weight spring swap too. They offer a couple rear shock upgrades as well: chargedcycleworks.com/collections/suspension

Do you use the 50/60 or progressive spring in your fork. I weigh around 80kg and wonder what spring I should get. I have been thinking about an upgrade to bomber 58s but am now concidering trying a stiffer spring instead. Was changing the spring a easy job or did you let a mechanic do the job?

Mine is all factory. Noting changed in my forks. I don't get to ride really offroad trails with jumps that require me to upgrade spring. Maybe some day I will. I recommend calling the Charged Cycle Works shop as they have real world experience racing and tuning sur ron forks. Give you best advice.

Thanks..I just got mine and I'm not motor bike experienced..I was wondering if it was Normal to drop that 1/4 inch in the front ... thanks for the video
@GettingthruLife2 жыл бұрын
If talking about dropping the forks in the clamps a tad...this is typically a huge tuning tool/trick in the full sized motocross world. Lowering the front of the bike makes it turn better by decreasing the rake of the forks but this bike turns already like on rails. Raising the bike up by dropping the forks can make for more stability/increasing slightly wheelbase plus make a tab bit taller in the front. The tops of my forks are flush with my top triple clamp or maybe 1mm poking up.

@@GettingthruLife well..I just noticed..I can pull up the front and set it down.. and the front droops that 1/4 inch with out pushing down..I couldn't figure out if that was normal.. but in the beginning of your video . You kinda explained that.. so I guess it is normal 👍

When I move the spring pre load shock collar down so tightening it it leaks oil but when it’s all the way to the top it doesn’t why does it do this?
@GettingthruLife Жыл бұрын
My guess would be you have a worn-out seal or damaged oil seal. I'm assume when you say leaks oil, the oil is coming out at the shock shaft point as it enters the shock main body? In reality, the shock and forks should be serviced likely every couple of years depending on hours used. Forks and shocks take a lot of abuse over a years use depending on where they are used/type of riding. It's not cheap to service and likely actually difficult to find a local shop but the user can likely feel a big difference between a worn out/tired fork or shock vs. a freshly serviced fork/shock. My suggestion is think about sending to Charged Cycle Works for rebuild/refresh and tuning per your specific riding.I figure way cheaper than buying new forks or shock and they can also respring for your weight and riding ability. Call them for their advice and ask them for help if needed about your current shock problem. (801) 449-1050 One day here I will need to service mine or upgrade.

I thought the fastace fork was an air fork? Your saying saying you can't put air in it like you can a dnm fork?
@GettingthruLife2 жыл бұрын
On my Fastace black fork 2021-2022 there is no place to add air plus the included diagram of the forks internals shows a one sided coil spring.

@@GettingthruLifethis fastace has an air inflation valve its the one I ordered is it not the same fork that's on your bike? Wish there was more info I could find about these forks kzbin.infobmeQM1d0EIE?feature=share

10:10 rebound is on the top. 11:07 touching top saying compression and touching bottom saying rebound. I understand with MTB shocks blue is compression and red is rebound.
@GettingthruLife2 жыл бұрын
On my fastace rear shock blue dial is compression and red dual is rebound.
@GettingthruLife2 жыл бұрын
I botched that up. Compression is on the top blue and rebound is bottom red. One of the difficulties making video and getting words/sentences twisted.

the adjustment screws are so cheap and installed so tightly.. even with a bent flat head screw driver to get in perfect angle since handlebars in way the scerws meta is being torn up ... I moved it 2 clicks lol.. think im done
@GettingthruLife2 жыл бұрын
This screw on top of the fork has been problems on many bikes including most of big dirtbikes across many years. An item that works fairly good for adjusting this screw is a dime from your pocket or the money jar. Yes these slotted heads are easy to strip out. Otherwise.

Is there anyway to add air to these?

Not to the Fastace fork or rear shock. They are spring based.
