Having watched all of your videos it's really nice to see how your leather work has come along. From only relying on adhesives to full stitching and multiple layers of detail. Your scabbards really have started to complement all the work you put into the blades.

Or the ones who can actually FORGE a sword, and know about them more than "wow it looks badass". Here you can see pressing, drilling, grinding, but only little forging. First HUGE mistake is hot fitting crossguard to already heat treated blade - it causes shitload of stress, and blade will snap under the crossguard sooner or later. Pattern on the blade is nice... ...but "vikings" never used this type of pattern, just look at originals. More often it was pattern welded fuller, and high quality steel edges. Third mistake is handle length - look at 36:06. You could easily get fifth finger on that grip, and it should be tight. It's also too thick. Fourth mistake is the way he riveted the pommel. It's 2 piece pommel, so the first half should be riveted to the blade, and then the decorative end should be riveted to the other part by 2 rivets on the sides. Also look how decorative crossguards, pommels, and handles are in this perioid of time. Steel was expensive back then, and such sword was serious value to the owner, so the whole thing should be incrusted or at least engraved. Sure, with time they become simpler, but not in this style of swords. Do i think he did shitty sword? HELL NO! I know how much work and time you have to spend on this type od work. But i also don't think "Forging a pattern welded Viking sword" is the adequate title to the video. It should be more like "Fabricating Viking inspired sword". Cheers. :)

@@atexc5604 Fairly true, a bit stubborn as most will see it but, fair none the less, well, to those who know what your talking about ;) Agreeable that the heading could be changed of what he was actually making, and sure these swords weren't made in such ways. But god damn, the sword turned out pre sexy

@@atexc5604 I'm really grateful for this comment of yours. Cuz when a person watches someone put that ton of effort into something he thinks:"Yeah, this guy really knows what he's doing". But my inquisitive mind always asks me:"Is this the perfect way this should be done, or there is some part of misleading information introduced unintentionally?". And the process of hot fitting the crossguard actually did arise a question inside my head (not really experienced in the ways of forging of course):"Why did i never see it before in any videos of forging anything? Seems like a genious way of doing it!". Now i know it's not and thank you for that!
